74F nice soaking rain this morning much needed clouds slowly disappearing.

Pretty much boring day with foot up,did some thinking things like to get done before snow starts dancing in the air about 4 months.

This evening set on the deck with foot up waiting for the critters to stroll by.

Enjoy your evening all.

With all the beating that bolt takes, it's really surprising they don't break more often.

Once I finished drilling those Woman had a ribeye that needed grilling so I started some charcoal in grill and hoped that I could get the steak cooked before more rain moved in.

Unfortunately as luck would have it that didn't happen ... we got another torrential downpour and I took the steak inside to finish it up under the broiler in the oven.

Ribeye + baked potato + fresh sauteed yellow squash + fresh sliced cucumbers with vinegar and ranch dressing. Was delicious.

Watched The Guardians @ KC during dinner and it was dark by the time I finished cleaning up my plate.

Not entirely sure what all will be on the agenda for today.

Need to go check the live trap.

Have some okra that needs picked.

Some trellis work.

Speaking of which, stuff on the arched trellis is really going to town, plants are taller than I am, winter squash are developing fruits:

Have one little indeterminate tomato on the straight trellis that is starting to ripen:

Might work some on getting more arbs planted depending on how messy it is outside.
Indeed you and the Mrs. have green thumbs.

Since we only have 2 chickens and 1 Peahen, we don't use enough of their food to keep it fresh. Now we have some weevils in our poultry food trashcan with a tight fitting lids. It just costs so much more per pound to buy 5lb bags vs the big bags.

1 thought is to use some of my argon/CO2 mig gas to fill the trashcan up, displacing the normal air, and let oxygen deprivation do it's thing. The layena pellets we buy are the type with elevated levels of Omega 3's for healthy eggs.
I wouldn't worry to much about it, it's just extra protein for the birds.

Kyle, I'm glad your mom is doing better...she's lucky to have you, and vice versa.

Thomas, hope your foot is better...may have been boring, but you did the right thing getting off of it.

Buppies, Della says she is up for playtime with Precious.

We just had a doozy of a storm...I told my wife we haven't had a good ole fashioned t-storm like that in a long while. Gnarly churning black clouds, then hard wind and downpour with ground shaking thunder...it really felt like an earthquake.

BEF, maybe the card wasn't seated fully...but I've had many cams just die like that...still searching for a more reliable brand that doesn't cost a fortune.

It was a battery spring, cleaned it up, camera now working. This one is Stealthcam, I also have Wildgame. Both have been pretty good.

FWIW: After cleaning, and using DeOxIt, I have taken to using copper dielectric grease on contacts like that.

All the best,

Peter

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.2C and it's presently 14.6C, clear & calm. There was 8.3mm in the gauge @0900, all from a surprising downpour yesterday arvo.

Which (rain-wise) all happened whilst having some 'tractor fun'. The "Mad Agisting Horse Woman" asked if I could drop off a round of hay, which I did. Of course the unexpected rain started as I was on the road to her house/property. Yeah, I got a wee bit wet but it would've been even worse later on.

Today I believe that I'll make a run to the 'tip', then stop off at the PO... I think that the Wine Faeries have dropped 'something' off.

That's about it, take care all.

But the weevils actually "soured" the chicken scratch grains, and I google it and the weevils can actually host some worm larvae. The chickens have worms now too. We just bought some stuff to treat them.

good morning all
up early, enjoying my coffee
going to be a hot day, 73 going to 93 today.

big morning, switch to new barber, wonder how that will turn out.
old barber left with no notice, new lady said 45 bucks for a men's haircut.
I paid her, smiled and said not again. Competitor in same shopping center is 30 bucks,
keeping in mind this is a 15 minute appt, no head washing (I always shower and shampoo before a haircut)
and I don't have much hair left...
to which I will add my ten dollar tip and keep paying the same 40 I have been.

then Popgadget has generously offered to help me with the running lights on my rv, so headed up there
after my hair cut. Going to pick tomatoes before I leave and I think I have a nice pound+ tomato to take.

once home sure it will be sweat city and time to chill for the afternoon, literally.
