Good morning!!!!

sorry for your foot Thomas, ouch.

on this day in 2011 I was launching my boat at the Lewes DE boat ramp
from where we took a fun ride with my friends who live in Milton
several years later I replaced that motor with a 70 due to constant carb problems.
Boat is now in Cedarville MI and my advice to my oldest brother is to keep dumping Sea Foam in the tank.
Scout now makes multimillion dollar yachts but this was the smallest boat they ever made.

good morning all
light rain last night, about .10 in gauge, cloudy today with more showers later
no plans for today other than doing laundry

yesterday wasn't very successful.
I tried again on the rv spark plug and no joy.
carefully went up that new tall ladder to check out rv lights and not happy to find
oems seem to be glued/caulked on; no exposed screws on marker lights. Hard to believe they
have to be pried off.

nice dinner with my brother last night, they barbecued salmon which was delicious.
at dinner he asked me for a dollar bill.
what do you want that for?
just give me a dollar. ok.
then he hands me a three inch round bumper sticker.
Solebury Township police foundation sticker. Hmmm.
He has one that says charter member, since he helped start it years ago.

I have no bumper stickers on my car, sure don't worry about tickets at my age but
will consider sticking it on my pristine Lexus bumper, at least the colors don't clash.
it just shows local support but then everyone here supports the police
folks even put signs up in front lawn saying we support our local police.
Never understood reasoning behind that, maybe they are new to area and want to fit in.
It's like saying support your local firemen, of course we do...

I think the last bumper sticker I have had was a small peace sign in the 70's.
which brings up a similar issue, my neighbor across the street and down one house, who used to have six
political signs put up, all message signs, we believe stuff. Fine. But six was a lot, I think someone said something and now there are four out, two on each property corner, right on the road. The message is relevant, but the clutter is ugly. In my brother's senior community they allow zero signage and everyone is grateful.

Don, how is the farm doing? Back in operation?
But it is their yard and property.

Ken what kind of bush/vine do you have by the gazebo that looks like a bird with wings spread and how do you have it supported?
That's a weeping pine tree, it's just massive and have to work at keeping it trimmed.
We also have wisteria and a new mystery vine (the mystery vine will "disappear" this winter).

Drew you can place the sticker on the back glass. Future removal if needed will be easier, with no damage to paint or chrome.

The previous owners of my place had lots of Wisteria around the yard.
It's a creeper and you really have to keep an eye on it and keep it trimmed or it will choke small trees, eaves troughs, whatever it can climb.
Only reason I don't get rid of it is that the bumble bees love it.
The whole place buzzes when it's in bloom.

Morning all, 75 going to 85 and light rain.
Yesterday got the seed pods for the milkweed moved to the lower field and then we went to the beach, Point Pleasant in NJ.
Perfect day, nice breeze.

Maybe go to Harbor Freight, wife wants to look at some lights and I was going to buy the torque limiters Popgadget recommends for end of season maintenance tasks.

Thomas, ouch, hope that heals fast.

The Wisteria does try and get under the cedar roof shingles, it's some work to keep it from breaking the gazebo, but it's only a few minutes each session.

Be well,

Even the drinks machines are thinking about tractors, At Jenkinson boardwalk.

Those huge palm trees get moved in each winter and out on the beach for the summer. Wonder how much that cost?

These boats back up to the beach and let people on/off, even with all this wave action.

Kyle, I might have missed an update from you but have been thinking about your mom...how is she doing?
Thank you for thinking about her. Her heart's efficiency is much better. I was hoping that physical rehab might could get her off of her walker, but her balance is still not great. I told her "with your new heart, you will probably outlive me." She said, "don't say that." I'm thankful her memory is still good. (her mother passed away from dementia). Her Bday is Aug 5, she'll be 96.
The toughest thing about keeping her, is, we can't go on any trips or even day trips. We need to find her an adult sitter that we can pay. My wife sometimes feels "tied down".

79F and cloudy @ 11:00, calling for a high of around 85F for the day with scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Chance of rain is 40% ... but we just had another downpour so it's actually 100%.

Stuck my nose out yesterday after posting ... didn't seem all that bad ... but then the sun wasn't out at the time.

Helped Woman with some cleaning/maintenance in the kitchen/laundry.

Removed fabric softener dispenser from the Speed Queen so She could clean it and then cleaned the interior of the agitator and put it back together.

Removed some dried up flax seed oil from the countertop that gotten spilled when I initially treated the mandoline last year before using it. Pretty impressive stuff ... once it's sets up and dries ain't nuthin' touching it as far as cleaning solutions go. Had to scrape it off with a plastic razor blade.

Replaced the water filter in the refrigerator and removed the two crisper drawers so She could clean them.

Got another week's worth of meds doled out.

Big news of the day was multiple frog stranglers throughout the day and into the night ... even until just a bit ago.

Rain gauge is now showing 1.75" since yesterday morning ...

We really needed it.

Grass will growing like crazy again ... 🤬

But so will the garden so it's all good.

Snuck out after one of the downpours yesterday afternoon and collected another 3 yellow squash. Probably do another batch of squash for the freezer today.

A little later (after the next round of rain stopped) I went out and started to drill the next 4 planting holes for the arbs.

Was too close to the stump/roots of one of the ash trees we took down and snapped the shear bolt on the input side of the gear box ... so a quick run down to the hardware store for a replacement 5/16" x 3" Grade 5 bolt. Picked up 2 along with lock washers, and nuts and left $3.80 lighter in my wallet.

Got the shear bolt replaced when I got back and drilled 3 more planting holes:

IMG_3787 copy.jpg

With all the beating that bolt takes, it's really surprising they don't break more often.

Once I finished drilling those Woman had a ribeye that needed grilling so I started some charcoal in grill and hoped that I could get the steak cooked before more rain moved in.

Unfortunately as luck would have it that didn't happen ... we got another torrential downpour and I took the steak inside to finish it up under the broiler in the oven.

Ribeye + baked potato + fresh sauteed yellow squash + fresh sliced cucumbers with vinegar and ranch dressing. Was delicious.

Watched The Guardians @ KC during dinner and it was dark by the time I finished cleaning up my plate.

Not entirely sure what all will be on the agenda for today.

Need to go check the live trap.

Have some okra that needs picked.

Some trellis work.

Speaking of which, stuff on the arched trellis is really going to town, plants are taller than I am, winter squash are developing fruits:

IMG_3782 copy.jpg

Have one little indeterminate tomato on the straight trellis that is starting to ripen:

IMG_3784 copy.jpg

Might work some on getting more arbs planted depending on how messy it is outside.

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Sun is now out so need to get moving.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)
