I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

HD - Some like me bought the Amazon saw, and others got the one from Hockfire. I think 4570 got his from Hockfire, and 2manyrocks, Cloverknoll and I got one from Amazon.
My saw arrived tonight, spent 30 minutes taking it apart, and assembling it, yes the sparkplug was tight 15MM, and replaced with the NGK. The air filter was a bit loose, so tapped/closed the metal tab a bit and it tightened up - that may need to be revisited TBD.
Some edges around the grip but 320 grit paper easily cleaned those up, Installed the chain and tensioned, and have not gassed or oiled it up yet, Overall fit and finish is good other than the grip.

Loose filter? Wonder if you got an OEM filter
Blue filters will be small filters. Scotty said there is some small white ones too. I just never seen one yet.
I bought mine straight from Farmertec USA NJ warehouse.
Filter good to go here and I use grease on stihl and echo base mounts.
No flashing here on my 2 clone 2511. Just the new batch of small air filters ones had flashing.
All smiles here. No project a user and getting ready to test a oem stock muffler, clone muffler, egan pipe, pps V2, wcs ones.
OEM first then if I still feel like it Farmertec clone next. It wont be broke in. I dont count new saws broken in till 10-12 tanks through them.

I don't mind projects, especially for $99.

When I ever do need filters. I am going to order the bigger oem mount like you and just go to oem filters.
That way all on same page and easy to get.
Scotty is only one I know of to get small filters from.
Something I learned on NLA mesh filters. Just use Sealall for rips or gaps etc. Fix works great for many years with no issues.
