Years ago, a good friend was a Ford technician.

He and a couple of the other techs kept trying to figure out where a large wind noise was coming.

I happened to stop by and drop something off that I had borrowed from him and he said they were having a hard time figuring that one out, and pointed at the car.

I asked "Did you remove the roof rack and try it????".

His reply was a whole lot of cussing

73F and sunny @ 11:00, calling for a high of 82F for the day with light and variable winds. Looks to be another beautiful day.

Got hopper feeder refilled first thing yesterday, also scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Yesterday ended up being a big watering day for the most part, trying to make sure everything is well-watered and fed before our little heatwave which starts tomorrow.

WU calling for a high of 89F Wednesday, 93F Thursday, and 87F on Friday (but with a chance of thunderstorms)

Started off watering arbs in pots along with the tomato plants on the back shelves.

Then watered, fed, and pruned all the Sunny Boy tomatoes. Also got one more cage put on one plant and staked another which had a 90 degree bend in it to see if it would straighten up before putting a cage on it.

After that watered and fed all the sweet bell peppers, eggplant, and kohlrabi.

Once that was done I cleared out a spot in the weeds at the end of the row the Hungarian Wax peppers are planted in and got that last zucchini planted. It was looking pretty sad ... not wilted but all yellowed up ... probably due to depleting all the nutrients in the little pot it was planted in.

Remembered to water Woman's sunflowers in pots.

Then started working on watering and feeding the Hungarian Wax peppers, as well as weeding the ones I hadn't gotten mulched. Those had gotten buried in weeds (... in around a week?)

Indeterminate tomatoes on the straight trellis got another 40 minutes of soaker hose on low flow.

Then 40 minutes of soaker hose on low flow on the pole beans and winter squash on the west side of the arched trellis. Some of the pole beans are now higher than the remesh panels we're using as a trellis so I got some of the plastic-coated stakes for the old tomato cages and drove those in giving them another 10" to grow onto. Still have more to do on that.

Went up to the shop and got 2 more t posts for the goat panel and dropped those around back.

Started spreading out mulch between the flower bed and the strawberries and watering the pumpkins that are planted along the east edge of the flowerbed.

Discovered that some of those pumpkins had taken off, some vines were around 4' (or more) long ... and growing the wrong way ... into the flowers ... so worked on untangling those and getting them headed the right direction. More to do on that today.

Picked another 2 lbs of summer squash as the last thing before watching the bat ballet at dusk. Had quite the crowd last night ... probably a dozen of them.

That zucchini was hiding ... almost got away from us ... lol.

Took the trash up to the cans at the road around 22:00, didn't bother with the recyclables ... they can go another week.

Agenda for today beyond what was mentioned above will be mostly just trying to get the unfinished stuff on the list from yesterday completed. Probably get the summer squash and okra watered and fed as well.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

step ladders and walk board would get me nervous.
I've come to prefer these, the bakers scaffolding. I'll often use a ladder to get on and off and I like to have two of them side by side for more depth to work from and more stability.

Of course my preferred way is from my work basket on the tractor;
it does tie up another person to operate the hydraulics and move the tractor

Lou, I would likely send my young helper up there, not me.
considering the doc yesterday told me to take it easy, climbing that ladder is going to be
put off til tomorrow. if all I have is a pulled groin muscle from screwing around with those saws on Saturday,
then going up a ladder isn't going to help those muscles a bit.
I saw those scaffolding sets at Harbor Freight, but not wide enough. I need an 8 foot board to
clear the width of the rv

mowed the lawn since it was dry and I had the time, picked a few tomatoes and lots of cherry tomatoes, and
delivered four tomatoes to a neighbor.

nice veggies RS. Any plans for when fifteen of those zucchini all come in at one time?...
