Hydraulic Hose Crimp Tool

Would like to buy a hydraulic hose crimp tool for occasional use in my equipment barn. Any advice regarding brands, features, etc.? Do the manually operated “no-name” units in the $800 range work well enough?

Most hydraulic hose and hose ends are designed to only work with a given brand of hose same with crimper dies. Generic might work but hose and ends are expensive to experiment with.

Hose and ends have a crimp spec.
Parker crimpers normally are built to bottom out at spec.
But many others use the micrometer style adjustment.
The cheap ones don't have a stop or different dies for different diameters.
Custom crimp would be my choice for a crimper, if I was in the market.


Edit a d165-t420 is what I have use at work but if I was buying I'd just get a d100

Edit a d165-t420 is what I have use at work but if I was buying I'd just get a d100
