OP: good title question. another related question may be why Kubota M series tractors do not offer hst in their higher HP Utility models... i'll let someone else explain, but i sure do like my manual/ hyd shuttle model, best of both worlds. thankfully my knees are not a problem for shifting. regards

You know you don't have to use the clutch to shift right? Shift your shuttle into neutral before changing gears than go back to forward.

Love the hydro trans on the Kubota M59/62. Can’t beat it for close quarters maneuvering at 540pto operations. The loader is powerful but not removable except for the quick attach bucket. Easily 8,000# with loaded tires and my added accessories in 3pt mode. Rated at 45hp pto is lower compared to some comparable ag tractors. Compact size and ample operator station is easy to operate in tight situations.

on the M series hyd shuttle, clutching is required for changing gears, the hyd shuttle is used to change directions w/o clutch use. it really is the best of both worlds if a person is able to clutch while shifting.

No, there is still a 2000 lb difference. Looking at the overall frame construction and the thickness of metal and fastenings will give an idea of were the extra metal was used. The M62 loader lifts nearly twice the weight & the TLB is set up to handle loader stress.
They seem to be differently built, but with a similar engine and transmission.

Here's what I'm coming up with from the various manuals:

8800 lbs M62 w/ loader, BH, buckets.

4400 lbs L6060
1900 lbs L1055 loader w/ bucket
2000 lbs BH92 Backhoe w/ bucket
------
8300 lbs equipped like an M62

It gets cold here and I see those Fendts working all winter long, so I'm betting they start just fine.

Only complaint I hear about Fendt is how much they cost.

I’ve seen some at a Ag Show 300 miles South of me a few years ago.

They just dont have the dealer network to support ppl to buy / svc them.

Their more popular thru the mid west with all the big row crop farming.

I liked the Hydro for mowing with a RFM because of varying your ground speed so easily depending on grass depth.

I like gear trans for farm work applications.

Each has their advantages.

I only was seeking hydro option for poultry house work for the ability to go ALL speeds UNDER 1mph like my current JD 5115M 48spd trans will.

Lots of other applications needs a certain trans option capable of running exact ground speeds.

Most 6 8 & 12spd trans have Big Gaps between gears not allowing this.

Depending on your fabrication skills you could build a custom tractor with HST tranny potentially using a tractor that has a frame supported engine and tranny. Need the frame since would effectively be removing the transmission and replacing with HST.

Could use either Danfoss H1 series pump and motor or Rexroth A4VG pump with A6VM motor.

Suspect reason no one makes one is limited demand vs development cost.

Do you need a PTO? If yes that would potentially require a thru drive on the pump capable of required torque.

If ALWAYS going slow could possibly get by with fixed displacement motor vs variable. Would save a little cost and control programming.

Probably not simple and inexpensive but necessity is the mother of invention.

All of those are possible but at what cost.

Agree probably not feasible for a one of build for a nasty corrosive environment.

Having many speeds under 1 MPH is very specific application for sure. Most utility tractors are lucky to have one gear 1-2 MPH and need creeper trans for rest. I have cattle and make hay and I agree I don't need to worry if I have exactly 5 MPH or if it's 5.1 MPH, I just care I have decent selection of field speeds in the 4-8 MPH range. Gaps between gears get annoying, I ran one baling that 2nd was too slow and 3rd was too fast.

M7060 12 speed creeper has 6 speeds 1.04 MPH or less, but that isn't enough selection for OPs application.

good post. i do not need the option, but buyers should know that the creep gear op is not intended for FEL or ground engagement implements, just for speed control for seed drills, etc. you already know this as owner, but many i'm sure would like to use them for harder work. regards

I’m pulling 15k lbs in creep 4wd when loaded in the houses. Flat ground tho
