Good Morning,
Vt, 0 to start going to 22 ! Another clear sky and bright blue ! The gang is packing up and we will be doing the same thing later this morning!

I might have to work Tuesday, they are supposed to let me know ! Wednesday sounds like rain in Ct, so maybe that’s a good thing !

Did those of you that had all these marvelous sledding experiences ever do much "snow skating"?
Newbury, we did ice skate on the streets in front of our Ct house a few times when we had a rain event that flash froze on the streets, that was fun !

Time to start cleaning up the carnage of the last few days !

Paul nice pictures of your grandson on the drums, sounds like he is picking up some of your many talents ! 🙏

Hope all have a good start to your day ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!! 45F back in Orcutt, CA. Wind increasing. A mix of clouds and sun. High 57F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.

The old Canon inkjet bit the dust last month, so I replaced it with a lower line 3-in-1 Canon Pixma MG3620 for about $80. Both use the same cartridges, my main reason for doing so since I had two pair left. It's nice to be able to print photo quality images, but I do that very infrequently. Don't do much printing at all anymore.

Gosh, David, you've sure got a belt-and-suspenders version of generator backup going for you!

Woke up at 3AM yesterday, tossed and turned until 4 when I finally gave up. I was on the road south at 5:30, and rolled into the driveway at about 1 after a grocery stop. Got the frozen and refrigerated stuff unloaded and put away, then got a few dozen photos of the house up north uploaded to a web page for the neighbor lady's sister to look at. She sent me a text asking how much, and I don't know what to tell her. I have a phone call with a realtor at 10 this morning to discuss exactly that. I reviewed his comps last night and he doesn't have any idea, either. Spent a few minutes this morning looking for a step-by-step guide on doing a for sale by owner and didn't find anything truely useful. So that will be part of the conversation with the realtor as well. Maybe look at paying him an hourly rate to create the forms in Docusign, if it turns out the lady is sincere.

Hope everyone's week gets started in the right direction.

22 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's.

Very smoky and hazy outside this AM. Big cloud over by the ranges. Probably another controlled burn.

Hope all have a great start to the work week and a good day. Be safe.

RNG I sold two of the estate properties by owner. I hired an appraiser to determine the value of the parcels of land and house and used that price which the buyers thought was fair. The lawyer I hired (for a fraction of what the real estate agent charged) was also the lawyer for the banks and the closing company and had experience in Ernest money contracts. The key was the knowledgeable lawyer and the appraiser. I had to do all the running around that the realtor would have done but it was worth it.

nothing like a good old fashioned aluminum saucer, ours had quite a few dents in it.
today the early wooden Flexible Flyers are worth some money

I remember making a parachute like sail out of a bedsheet and tying it to one of those saucers. The first run made it obvious that with no brakes it wasn’t going to end well, requiring a bail out. The fix was to only tie the top of the sheet to the saucer, and hold the bottom lines so that you had some control.

Many good memories of flexible flyers as well. First run of the season often required steel wool to take the rust off the runners, then rub them with a bar of soap. We would usually soap them for every run.

Not so much, I had two of them that were my father's, probably from the 40s, used but good shape,
couldn't give them away, sold the 2 of them for $50 to a father for his 2 childern.

Morning all, 26 going up to 40 and sunny.
Packed and ready to head out.

Did get to pick up sticks, did 2 areas, lots more than normal, considering I had the area clear in December.

We used to sled a lot in MA in the back yard, sometimes flying across the road into the side of the barn. Flexible flyer and saucers. Only flyer for the backyard in MA, some steering required to not hit trees or house at the end of the run before the road, which was about 5 feet up, sometimes hit hard.
Used snow shoes a lot, I have the ones I used in our apartment, decoration now. I could run pretty fast in them.

Popgadget - grandson is getting big, looks like he is having great fun

be well,

Need to get out the little chipper when I get back, the larger branches are in the firepit out back also waiting for my return.

Good Morning To All who Celebrate! 31° to a high of 42°, partly cloudy and cold. No frost on the truck this morning.

This past weekend was a whirlwind. Off Friday to look at the farm. Thursday night, call from realtor. So sorry, property is already pending. GRRRR....

So, instead of that, drove up to look at another property. Advertised as "Barn and outbuilding with pond." HA! Barn is completely shot, outbuilding is hanging on by a thread. 17 acres, only downside is smack in the middle of it is a tiny parcel with an old mobile home on it, that's currently owned and occupied by someone else. Think of a square horse shoe, property with the trailer being in the center. Otherwise, property doesn't look half bad. Back to the drawing board....I know I'm not going to get perfect, but I think good enough isn't much of a reach.

Helped campground owning friend chop up some trees, including a massive tulip poplar. 28" bar and 500i needed the workout. Backhoe with thumb helped up until the very end. Friend was moving the butt log for the final cuts, when the retaining pin for the thumb broke, which caused the cylinder to fall and break the welded hydraulic fitting for the return line. Good thing it was the end of the day anyway.

Saturday Mom's clan invaded for the late holiday get together. Nephew was the crowd pleaser and got plenty of attention. 30+ people and the house was loud.

Sunday was just a recovery day, washed the mud off the truck as it's always mud season up north, took care of some chores. Maybe once it stops being so cold I'll take care of the tractor's 100 hour service.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Y'all stay safe out there and enjoy the week! Spring's a comin'!

Morning all!
2 earlier going to 28 and windy.
Happy Birthday to all I missed!
After waiting 6 months for my new lathe to come in I canceled the order today.
Found out this weekend the company filed for bankruptcy!
I'm not taking the chance of waiting anymore! They have had my money since day one! October!
Will order a different model when my money is returned.
Two more projects completed in the shop.sassafrasbowl.jpg

Nothing else going on. Did manage 3 walks last week. Hopefully weather will be better starting tomorrow. Have dentist on Wednesday. Cleaning only.
That's it for now.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
