another plane incident in Toronto Canada. flipped after landing.

Flipping over like that seems very unusual. Caused by high winds? I've never seen a cause specified.

The temp is in the 50's now but there is a cold weather alert for the Hill Country with wind chills from 6° - 15°F but they also say wind chill as low as 0°F is possible.

We are just lucky that it's not worse. Some of ya'll are really getting hit hard. Thomas, scotty, daugen, pop, wngspd, buppies you are all in my prayers and everyone else,too.

Edit: Thanks for the info check! All were very lucky but right now they may not realize it.Big news here. Really windy today, and the speculation is that wind caused the crash. Both wings fell/broke off! 80 souls on board, all survived (so far) but 2 are in hospital in critical condition. The entire airport was closed and all flights in and out have been cancelled. It's gonna be a travel nightmare - Toronto Pearson is a BIG airport!

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.6C and it's presently 25.5C, mostly sunny with a wee breeze.

Today I'll do a quick trip 'into town' to do my grocery shopping for the coming week as I'll be going to Brisbane tomorrow. I'll 'mostly' pack later on &, perhaps, get it transferred to the ute.

I need to keep Penelope the Pussybeast inside tomorrow morning... if she 'escapes' before I leave there'll be no way I'll be able to catch her.

It goes on the bucket quick attach on a Kubota excavator, and plugs into the aux hydraulics.

Good evening all. light to moderate wind, sky mostly clear by end of day, and high temp was 52ºF.Drive home had no problems. Got home about 3PM no nap, everything put away or in dirty clothes, grilled brats for dinner. Got some turkey bacon baked as al the cooked bacon has been eaten. Need to get organized for tomorrow.
Drew glad you got the tank filled, with 6 PM as fix time you have 9 more hours of no power from the grid. If generator is designed correctly, noting to be gained. Do you have an oil temp gauge or engine temp gauge? Running continuous in summer I would think be much harder. Air or water cooled?
Ken sorry about the heater, hope no other damage except the top misshapen. Sorry about the poor luck finding chairs and nothing at auction. Hope you had more success at HD to replace panels in garage. Sorry about all the leaves messing with water flow. Thanks for pics.
Dennis got halfway home yesterday the stopped in NE Oklahoma for the night. Drove home today and got home about 3PM. No problems.

RNG I think all the people moving here are diving up real estate prices which then translate to higher taxes. Glad van getting cleaned out after hauling wood. Good luck selling down the inventory of what you don't want anymore.

Drew no heated steering wheel in truck. but do have heat seats, turned it on this morning, low gets too hot in less than 5 minutes. Hope ex employee knows how to make breakfast also.

unhappily up way too early
here we go again....
power went off at 3am, apparently wide spread, again...,with over 1400 homes out.
I had signed up for notification and within five minutes I had a text and email telling me power was out and would be
restored as soon as possible, and no need to call it in. That's a good system.

19 degrees out. Starting a portable gen on a small propane tank in cold weather is pretty iffy, but mine started up fine and
is running now. Hope they get power back on soon, as I have to leave house this morning to get car serviced and don't like leaving
home unattended with portable gen running.

at least I got some good sleep before all the beeps woke me up.
time to make a fresh pot of coffee

Will not let me put booties on her feet. One time I had to get her. One foot was to sore to walk. Will try the booties again to day. Never got walkways cleaned. Probably a good thing. Cold air makes snow sticky. Today will be much the same as yesterday.

Good morning TBN!!
23 this morning with a high of near 50 under sun.
Kinda busy day yesterday. For me anyways
Wife and I had been discussing a new generator as mine won't run the equipment that I will need at the river. HF had the 13,000 tri-fuel Predator on sale for an extra $200 off for Presidents Day. Went and got it and brought it home for testing. Got it up and running with minimal fuss. Hooked it to propane and let it run 30 minutes or so. Hooked to my old school Miller stick welder and ran a couple of beads. Passed with flying colors. I will use the old genny for the garage because that is where our water pump is wired. So except for the fuel cost we should be able to stay warm and comfy if/when power fails again.
Then broke out the weed burner I got from Amazon. Thing sounds like a jet engine but should fill my needs.
All that and we still got 8k+ steps in. Got to cut back on dog treats. Not walking as much is making Takodas collar a bit tight.
Not too sure what I will get in to today. Hoping my guy brings our tank for the bridge soon. Getting anxious to get started. Weather isn't helping to move that process along very well.

Time for a second cup and see what the day holds.

More snow cleanup today, back walkways and my truck didn’t get cleaned off yesterday. First need to check auger belt on snow blower, the plume out of the chute was pretty weak as I finished the paths to the oil tank fill and generator shed. May be the idler adjustment or the belt is worn, I do keep spare belts just need find them.

That’s about it for today, maybe some takeout for supper tonight.

Still working on trees. Got the water out of the electrical line to the panel yesterday. Drained for a few hours. Will need to find out why that started in the spring.

Starting on the second cup of delicious chicory coffee. While the pot was brewing I made a round through the back yard just to be sure everything was good.

Mild temps right now. Calm winds. But....severe weather advisories are everywhere.

53°F now and may go as high as 67°F with 50% chance of rain.
5mph winds out of the SE gusting to 12 mph.
Clear skies 94% humidity
Next week should be pretty nice and I will be on the roads so that is appreciated!
