I have a CX2510. My joystick developed what is apparently a common problem. It would go into float but required a LOT of strength to pull it back out of float. The dealer came out and replaced the valve. He said it failed due to moisture/corrosion and that I should remove the cap periodically and lubricate it. I'm not sure which "cap" to remove to lubricate, so I'm attaching a photo and I'm hoping someone can tell me which cap to remove. I labeled all the possibilities with arrows. I was thinking it would be interesting to put a grease fitting into the valve but he said that would not be a good idea.
Thank you for any help.

Based on my experience with sticky joystick valves, I am pretty sure it is the upper control valves (2) under the rubber cover (1) at the joystick based.

Mine seemed to be lacking any lubricant. I used some silicone grease to solve the sticky/jerky movement.

The float detent assembly would be under #6. The longest cap. It will have spring(s) and detent balls in the assy. Careful when you pop it off, small things try to escape.

Look closely at the detent cap / cover. It may have a weep hole in it that you can use to shoot penetrating oil into and lube that assembly without having to dismantle it.

Thank you very much. They replaced the valve when they fixed it, and told me that there were little balls that were spring loaded, like the ones when hooking up a hydraulic line. These little bb sized balls get seized up, and that's what needs lubrication.
Those must be the detent balls that Eagle1 refers to, and I appreciate the heads up to be careful when I remove cap number 6.
I will look for a weep hole before I take the cap off and risk losing parts.
If I take the cap off, what do you think would be a good lubricant? Is it something that should be packed with grease?

My BX just kind of flops around with a 1000 hours mostly loader work… maybe lube would have helped?

@Eagle1 I just realized that my picture doesn't have a number 6. I assumed you meant number 5 on my photo, but maybe you meant the item labeled 6 on the diagram that Coyote posted? That would be under the rubber cover at the bottom of the joystick.
I thought I would need to lubricate the valve under the tractor pedals which is what I took a photo of (and what they replaced). Can you please clarify?
