How many lumens?

I just got a tractor with 4 halogen work lights at the cab that I'd like to convert to LED.

I did a conversion on our truck and the LEDs put out 12000 lumens. That's nice light.
But I can't find any LED work lights anywhere close to that output.

What do you guys run? How many lumens would you call sufficient?

princess auto, 3,200 lumens, way more than I need, unlike trucks or atv's or snowmobiles max speed is way lower so risk of out driving lights non existent.

I installed LED lights from Tiger Lights. Just looked them up and their site says they are 3200 Lumens each. Nothing near what you said your truck lights put out. However, they are super bright. MUCH brighter than the old OEM lights. You can't look directly at them. Also matched up perfectly to plugs, hardware mounting points, etc.

I wish I could answer your question, but lumens and wattage claims seen to be all over the page.
What I can say is that I am very satisfied with the light output of my 4 point cab lights. They are 9" spot/flood NiLights supposedly 54 watts. Cheap on Amazon.

I just googled your info. A 54w led can produce somewhere from 5800 to 7000 lumens.
That's right the ballpark that I'd like.

Sure you can't look into the light anymore.

Most of the problem is the aim and not the LED.

I just put led bulbs instead of halogen. There are usually cross reference charts. My tractor, utv, motorcycle, cars. More than enough for me. Cheap and easy.

Not all lumens are created equal. Our eyes are more sensitive to certain areas of light frequencies than others, so two different lamps with the same lumens rating may appear that one is much brighter than the other, if it’s concentration of frequencies are centered on areas of your eye’s more sensitive regions

I put this pair of lights on the front cab corners of my Branson they are 3000 lumens each and are quite bright and fairly inexpensive.

They all lie about their lumens! I have used Nilight brand LED's from Amazon for a couple different projects, including lights on my tractor. I have been happy with the results. So far, they have been reliable and put out good bright light with a nice even pattern.

I added light bars front and rear. Around 9,000 front and 14,000 lumens rear.

"Specmanship" (noun) -- The art of adjusting test conditions to support the numbers you want to claim.

I often use my lights for working on the ground around the tractor, such as loading a firewood wagon, or cleaning up the processing area after splitting wood all day. I'm glad my tractor has provisions to turn off some of the lights, as sometimes it can be blindingly bright out in front of them.

So, no advice on lumens or configuration, other than to say you might want to add provisions to individually switch some of them, so that you're not always stuck at 100% brightness.

Your photos show it best... Led work lights seem to evenly distribute light in the immediate area. I used to hate plowing in the dark because of reduced visibility, but now it's practically as good as daylight.

Torque Test Channel has done numerous video reviews on LED flashlights in the past (torch for the Brits) and have found the lumen claim is often bunk. Think stuff made from chinesium.

I think a lot of the earlier LED assemblies were advertising the MTTF (mean time to failure) of the LED itself. But the LED is usually not the first component that would fail in these assemblies, so their lifespan was almost always way shorter than advertised.

It doesn't seem to be as much an issue today as it was in the past, whether because the improved the MTTF's of the supporting circuitry, or because legislation has forced manufacturers to consider the entire circuit when calculating fail rates.

i purchased a set of Nilights as well, they also don't pull the amperage they state they pull.
