Just keep on with your divertion drivel, maybe you will convince some one that these multitudes of governmental bureaucracies are doing good and not exceeding their designed purpose.
I will agree that many of these various alphabet agencies have been created by congress men with a complete lack of balls and integrity and a desire to screw the citizens that elected them.

You seem to deny facts. Congress passes laws that agencies must follow. They drive the ship.

I personally am all for the DOGE as well, but not under the leadership and context it is being used. That super-rich guy who has all the money in the world only wants more money. One of the reasons he's the richest man in the world is the outrageous amount of tax subsides and government contracts he holds. Dept. of defense spending (and "lost") money is ridiculous and 1000% needs investigated. But we cannot expect the man who is one of the highest paid government contractors (especially in military spending) to advise on military spending. I would have more faith in the intentions of the DOGE if 2 billionaires, who directly receive money from areas of the government they are about to investigate, were not in charge of it.

no as we exclude the lecture on what is and what ain't, here is whats historically undeniable:

The continued diversion to Congress for the same results only more of it, that kicks the can down the road and gets us 36 trillion in debt. Then comes the never ending cycle of tax, spend, and printing money to keep fueling a economy based on paper and global uncertainty. Lose the dollar as the worlds trading currency and we got big trouble here in the USA. Maybe it's OK for you if China takes that over?
The "system" is broken and its the system that keeps it broken. Rooting and voting for a broken system is why you people lost and common sense people voted in Doge. Don't think for one minute that they were not on the ticket.

Rigging/buying elections and importing votes to keep the system in tact is what you people call a kingdom.(of course you prefer to give that title to Trump) ........Doge is just a set of intelligent business eyes (at no cost to the taxpayer) to expose the regulatory over reach of un-elected officials in the bureaucracy of waste...... maybe in turn giving the public a view of this enormous waste so that they can possibly elect people who are interested in resolve?

The most recent polling data from August 2024 puts the approval rating of the United States Congress at 19 percent. Congressional approval, particularly over the past few years, has not been high. Americans tend to see Congress as a group of ineffectual politicians who are out of touch with their constituents.

I wonder how long it will take until the recent post-Covid years become "The Good Old Days"?

I merely pointed out the facts that Doge is only an advisory function with no budget authority. They will have to present their recommendations to congress and congress is where the buck stops for federal funds. Congress may well consider and act on some of the committee recommendations. Or they may not.

Yes progress has it's virtue...and also has a signal of it as well.

I suspect 'the good old days" to have a wide and varied opinion on when or if? I'm an old guy so lived through good and bad. Maybe it's human nature to always want something better or more attuned to their chosen lifestyle?.... Moments in time..... and I have more history to look back on, than future to look forward to. Looking back, plenty of room for the "good old days" looking forward not so much.

And then the American people can decide if Congress is operating on their behalf
Members of congress are decided by US, so if they operate on behalf of US tells us how to vote next time.
Personally I favor term limits for every governmental office, the office of president already has term limits.

I agree also on term limits also, as long as you can find a way (and I don't have an answer for this personally) to prevent politicians from making legislative decisions while in office that are meant to set them up for when they are no longer in office.
