good morning, 49 going to 55 and raining pretty good

Picked up the van yesterday. On the ride up wife said she would rather drive in the van than the new GLS 450 Mercedes

Back to the tire shop today to get the wheel rotated on the truck

D is feeling better. The meds are kicking in.
Last week in her old job

My wife and I went up to Shenandoah NP and had a fun anniversary lunch at the Skyland Lodge. Then a cool hike along some cliffs on Stony Man and Little Stony Man up to sunset. Got back late to a very lonely and hungry Della.
Happy Anniversary!! Hope Della forgives you for the late meal...

Good Morning,
Ct, 40 to start going to 54 with rain coming in this morning , although not here yet ! Supposed to get about 1/4” !

Billy, happy anniversary to you and your wife, hope it was a good one !

Watched this squirrel move around with nut. Finally picked a spot in middle of yard. Then collect leaves to cover it up. Should have been doing a Video.
Ron, I see the same thing happening here ! Although not sure about covering up with the leaves ! 😀

Got a call from the urologist yesterday just before I was getting ready to leave ! The APRN that I was supposed to see didn’t show for work so they canceled
my appointment! Rescheduled to next Tuesday! 😒

Bill, when I went to the oil terminal last Friday, our price was $2.26 per gallon! Of course then we put our markup on that !
Drew, I think you need to remember that to get heating oil up to where Bill lives involves a lot of trucking to get it there ! We but our oil out of New Haven, Ct, so the tankers come right into port there !

We have our other 2 grands today until about 5 pm !

Hope to get some of the beds around the perimeter of the house cleaned out after the rain !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Scotty, sorry about your missed appt. Enjoy those kids.

RIP, hope your dermatologist goes easy on you.

Not too many folks at Shenandoah yesterday...of course, it was a workday, but the temps were mild. There were a few patches of snow left from Thursday night. Most hikers were young folks or families with school age kids. Most of the park facilties are closed for the winter. Skyland closes Sunday.

Good morning, the low is 30 and going to a high of 34°F. Wind E 6 mph. Periods of snow. 1/4" so far.

We could end up with 6" by the time all is said and done for this 'snow event'. Time will tell.

Drew, it is strange how the pricing of the oil goes. We supply 90% of our oil to the U.S., they refine it and then ship it back to us and we get to pay through the nose for it. I think IF I read things right your oil, gas and anything else you buy that originates in Canada will be going up 25% after January 20th. Time will tell on that score, too.

Probably late this afternoon I will be plowing. Until then it will be the you tube rabbit hole.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! 37˚F, N wind shifting to a S wind and warming to the mid 60s this afternoon.

I still have about 15 gallons of lava rock to get out of the fire pit, I've taken out 50 gallons. After all the rock is removed I can cut the gas line holding up the star burner and clean out the drain under the burner. I did find a cutoff valve in the attic that was turned off so that mystery is solved. It has a cut-off in the attic and in the rock wall near the fire pit.

Wife pick out her Christmas gift. An updated addition to our central vacuum system called Hide a hose.
We will be able to keep the system we have and just add this to the vacuum in the garage via the attic pipes. Hopefully soon we will get everything in the house refurbished so we can utilize it to the fullest. Still have not had to turn on the heater, house temp is 73˚, pool water temp is 58˚.

PT today.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 5:00AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 58F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Picked up another quarter inch of rain around dinner time yesterday, but otherwise dry.

Bit of a breakthrough on the wiring project and got power back on in the guest bath. One of the leads in the bundle I was connecting to 120 volts had a low resistance to ground, and I'd assumed it was going to light or other load. Once I disconnected that lead from the rest of the bundle, the breaker quit tripping and everything started working again. No idea where that wire goes, but its capped off now. One more pair of switches to figure out, but will need some more wire nuts to cap other unused mystery wires in other junction boxes.

Also got the paint remover wire brushed off the paint drips on the back patio. Now those spots look better than the rest of the concrete, so I see some power washing in my future.

Pulled the trigger on a Black Friday deal on a new washer and dryer for down south, but will have to hold off on a dishwasher until I can measure the counter height down there. The old washer had a habit of chewing holes in things, odd since the tub looks like it's missing an agitator. Soon it'll be someone else's problem. In the past I've been pleased with Whirlpool products, but the LG washer and dryer up here have worked perfectly for fourteen years, so LG got the nod this time, too.

The Thanksgiving turkey had been thawing in the refrigerator since last Friday, but it still felt pretty solid. So I let it thaw in the kitchen sink most of the day yesterday, then dug big chunks of ice out of it when I removed the giblets. Good thing I got a deal on it as I was also paying for all that ice. It went back in the fridge last night and will get cooked today. Then back into the fridge before heading south with me tomorrow.

Scored some holiday cheer at the grocery store, including some Volcano Mudslide Stout from a local brewery, along with a roasting pan for the turkey. Tried to bring home some bone in New York steak, but the butcher was out. Just as well because I should be eating less red meat. Time to dig out that Forks Over Knives cook book.

Morning all, 49 going up to 60 and rain.

Last night learned one of my wifes cousin died. This is one of the cousins we visited in California over the summer. Cancer sucks.

Son locked his keys in the truck, so that was my wake up call this morning to bring over my key to 7/11 so he could finish his drive to school ....

Did get the replacement apple tree planted yesterday and some more lights put out.

Mostly - have a fun trip

Happy anniversary Wngsprd - sounds like a great day

Be well,

Wife pick out her Christmas gift.
When you are finished, the suction from the central vacuum power unit retracts the hose back into the wall.

better test it to make sure she doesn't go with it... ;) ;)
tie a rope on her belt first and hang on

I'm sure Ted/LS is having a very tough, stressful time now trying to deal with what is likely some
bad news explaining why his wife has been in pain. Prayers that the docs can fix it.
No matter what, his life has changed with even more responsibility. Thankfully he has a lifetime of
experience taking care of folks. Very different, ever so real when it happens at home. A few of us have been there done that.

headed downtown shortly to UPS to send Buckeye's battery hose, then a little food shopping.
It's been raining slightly for a while, supposed to end soon.

dumped change in pile, saw the guy in gas station in VA slipped a token in and got me.
some pics from brother's home in Middleburg on a huge horse farm
