Good morning, the low is 31 and going to a high of 41°F. Wind N 6 mph. Sunny!

Does anybody have a good recipe for a broad leaf weed killer? Preferably something that wont hurt the cats. All the 'good' weed killers have been banned in this country, thanks to you-know-who. jt

Drew, ladybugs will eat aphids, so IF you have plants in the house, then ladybugs are an asset. They wont hurt humans, nor animals. They only want a warm place for the winter.
Also a cricket or two in the house are supposed to bring good luck.

BEF, turkeys are smart enough to know that there wont be too many people that will shoot them that close too the house. What they don't realize is that you could shoot them off your porch, if you were so inclined.

Today I am not procrastinating, I WILL get on with energy conservation.

Have a safe day all

Filled up propane tank 500 gallon 67 gallons since February of this year not much usage heats hot water and downstairs heat pump grill outside. Shows how mild it’s been. Squirrel came across porch looked in bedroom door followed by chipmunk nature at work.

Six point buck in road last night took 5 minutes for him to move star struck look I know why

Morning all, 53 to 62 and sunny, windy, very dry. More fire warnings.
BIL affected by smoke from south NJ fire.

Went and looked at new car and it looks like they are almost finished prepping, will pickup today.

Drew - took son to that rail museum when he was younger, great setup with lots of nice engines in really good nick.

So far new oil burner is doing well, much more efficient in when it turns on, not just how well it burns.

Off to bank and new car, be well,

69°F and .50 inches rain

Yesterday morning was successful if judged by my credit card
Picked up a 22lb bird for TDay. Expecting 20+ guests. Bird was “free” if you spent at least $150. Not a problem.

Also picked up 2 new pedestal sinks and hardware for the master bath. Should get started on that today.

Ridgeline did its mysterious electrical again. Started right up on the boost battery after we got home.

Ended all meds from my Kidney stone ordeal and feel back to normal. Ground to wet to resume mowing.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Afternoon
Today started out at 45° and clear. It’s 56° with a high of 59 forecast now.

Yesterday I managed to build the shed doors and get a coat of paint on them.

Then installed some clever spice racks that I found online.

I drug out the SLR and tripod to try to get a decent picture of the stunning moon last night.

November Moon.jpg

In between I checked some more stuff off the list, and got together with the boys to play some music.

Today started with taking a friend to pick up his car at the repair shop. Followed by a second coat of paint on the doors. I have to go to TSC or HD to get some new hinges to mount them after lunch.

Then we will see what pops up after that.

I need to build set of doors for dad's barn. Thinking of using painted plywood. Is T111 any better?

Not much getting done here today by me. Nice day that I wasted. Partly because I already got all cleaned up, and going to meet with perspective minister tonight. So far they seem really nice, and all his references really praised him and his wife. He will present the morning lesson tomorrow. We will meet with him again monday night if he wants the job. Of all the people we have looked at, he is by far the best candidate.

40 degrees today high of 60 breezy too. The young man Tyrin will be buried this Tuesday. Family is taking it hard as am I.

Prayers for all our Country
Sad. Condolences. Way too young.

My new PCP signed me up for a Cologuard test instead of a colonoscopy this time around, Kyle. No uncomfortable prep required.
RNG, you're up way to early for the left coast. Elon says he can make rockets faster than the agencies can return his paperwork.

I believe he wanted the real deal so the corporate hospital can get more $$$ I love my MD, but he does work for a "company". I didn't mind so much, because it has been 14 years since my last. I did ask the nurse how many colonoscopies a day they did...."30-35" Wow! Had a volunteer lady greet us at the front door helping us with where to go and another volunteer lady pushed my wheelchair to my daughter's awaiting car.

2 windows a day is good progress IMO.
Rome wasn't built in a day. :)

Finally got old car removed and off to it's next place.
New car still was not ready last night, hopefully tonight.

Wow, that looks like a really nice car to be headed to the scrapyard. I'd love to find a car like that and find an engine from a crashed/totalled one and recycle them together.
Hope the new car is a reliable one and a doozey.

I got notice from my medical provider that the contract with my Medicare Advantage insurance company was expiring (1/1/25) and the treatment fees were inadequate - they were trying to negotiate a "fair" reimbursement schedule. I got a letter from the insurance carrier a week later confirming "negotiation" wasn't happening and they were nice enough to set me up with a new doctor - 25 miles away. I like my dr and she's right here in town (4 miles). I'm gonna pick new coverage...

I'm going to put out my snow fence (today?) before the weather turns.
Please keep us posted on what you end up doing, I'm at the point I have to start deciding maybe...

Scotty, I was hoping for some help with how to train a Squirrel. 🐿️🤠
Not good times for trained squirrels.
Wifey said your breakfast sounded good to her.

Drew, train museum looks cool. I would want to go for a day ride.

I've rested Thursday afternoon after the procedure. Doc's said I couldn't drive the whole day. The knockout drug put me out quickly, and I came to quickly afterwards with very little post issues. No hangover.

Yesterday, I decided to work on a hydraulic cylinder from the loader off of my tractor. Should have finished it but I had to find something to clean up the inside of the cylinder. It had been sitting for a long while, and all the fluid had leaked out and a very slight amount of surface rust had started. Used an extension with my die grinder and a nearly perfect fitting abrasive flapper wheel.
Now if I can just get the orange colored piston seal onto the aluminum piston. It is rock hard. I heated it up to 170F in hot water to see if it would go on, but no luck. I haven't ever had this much trouble before with this seal. May heat it closer to 200F in water then try again. They are supposed to stretch over the piston into the groove, and then you have to sometimes use a radiator clamp to compress them a little to get them back into the cylinder. Of course the endcap with all the seals had rust in all the grooves. I usually take them to work and stick them into a lathe and sand them out but I had a 3M scotch wheel that fit for my die grinder and I got them decent looking. It should seal.

All the old seals were completely dilapidated and literally crumbled when I was removing them. 22 years old, and the first 20 years stayed outdoors...

I took off my adblock, and now I have constant ads in the right margins, and ads between each post. Bleh.

Wifey is finally making the pot of beef stew. Smells good.
