Korean tractor dilemma

I’ve noticed the ls dealers here are all bad boy dealers. LS and bad boy seem to have a little something something. Bad boy makes the implements for a lot of the LS stuff just of course blue and few hundred $$ more for that sticker. Must be more that meets the eye to that one. But all the dealers also deal with other equipment and have shops.

As for TYM , I have seen United rentals etc sell them here in Michigan and a few other small places with no service center but a parking lot. That was what swayed me from TYM here.

My TYM dealer has a full shop... But they also sell other large AG equipment. In fact, when I went to test drive the tractors, the sales lead was out of town for a large AG show, and I spoke with the head mechanic for over an hour. He got me the keys, let me drive the tractors, and was a wealth of information. He was also the guy who delivered my tractor.
When I needed filters, and they didn't have them in stock (right when TYM began selling the legacy Branson tractors), they had them drop shipped in three days.
They weren't the cheapest, but they were the most established and customer centered.

All of our local LS dealers are moreso lawnmower shops/sales. That was one of several factors I took into consideration.

Seems to me the root cause in this case was picking a bad dealer. As noted already, stuff breaks and dealer support is as important as brand in my opinion. I am lucky to have a great Kioti dealer close to me but if I didn't have one I would have gone with a different brand most likely.

The dealer is one of the biggest reasons I went with Kioti. My dealer has been exceptional, and I've gone on to purchase a few other items from them to include my chainsaw.

So, a company I used to work for, had a fleet of maybe 12-18 1/2t pickups, and 2 Dodge-5500 trucks with vacuum excavation bodies. Anyways, the head of the office vehicle pool had a habit of just dropping trucks off at dealer (or ring power for vac truck issues), and not even bothering to talk to them. Kinda trucks in the yard, keys in the box, fix it, approach. Always took forever; and I really think it's cause they assumed we weren't in a hurry, cause if it mattered, there would be a lot more rush. Bad part, those vac trucks cost us $3500/day in revenue everytime they were down.
The local Ford dealers anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to get any of the larger super duties into the shop to even look at them.

They have the only lift (1) in the area that will handle a F450 or F550 chassis.

Then i provided pictures with dates that show the day i took it in, and that it had indeed been there a month.. i cant stand liers

So we don't know yet if it's a whole pump, a seal, gasket, o-ring, loose bolt, or "within manufacters spec for leakage" yet?

I put a bore scope down in the bell housing. It looked like the input shaft seal to me

Something a bit hinky going on at that dealership. Agree, lying ain't the way to go.

Dang shame too. LS had some nice tractors. Concentrating most on marketing for sales and not customer service.

The customer for an OEM is primarily the dealership. If there's a problem with customer service, it's the dealer.

This is why so much advice to people looking to buy their first tractor is about the dealer.

It's not really about big or small dealers either. You'll find good and bad with both.

If your gonna be a dealer, you need the corporate support as well as investing in skilled technicians.

They go hand in hand. And yes, lying is no way to run a buisiness.

Skilled techs are hard to come by. Especially for a small mom and pop operation.

The tech is gonna go where the money and benefits are.

I think that's why I've seen the local Branson dealer fail.

And I wouldn't think of buying a TYM locally after seeing a lawn and garden shop start to branch out and offer TYM tractos.

It makes me wonder if they will be able to handle any warranty repairs, or if they invested in any training for their existing techs.

I dealt with that a lot during covid.

I'm still waiting on a back ordered wiring harness. Units been down going on 3 months now.

During covid, I was having to come up with "Will work" solutions for starters and alternators.

I had to get creative 6 months ago for a Turbo, and turbo actuator for a couple 300hp Deere engines in the shop.

I had both ordered for a couple months on back order and deere couldn't tell me when they were gonna ship.

I ended up having to have one of my candadian locations purchase it, and then ship it too me. They located it with one of their deere vendors up there.

I work for a global company with the purchasing power behind it, and have issues getting what I need.

I can just imagine the struggles that a mom and pop shop just getting into the buisiness goes through.

Talked to dealer yesturday. They claim they cant find the hst leak, even though i showed them when i dropped it off. So i sent them pictures of it and where it is. The oil pan leak they are "investigting" not much to investigate. Its leaking on the back side of the oil pan near the rear main. Maybe i should suggest they use dye if they are that incompetent
