Wet leaves on curves - those are hell for motorcycles.

And I recall an uphill curve on a narrow principal street in Berkeley that needed some throttle to climb the grade. But in the middle of the curve there was a worn shiny manhole cover. First rain, it was like glare ice. Spooky on a motorcycle.
There's a spot in winter park Florida at a train crossing. This intersection was a T with enough room for a vehicle to be at the intersection and not be on the tracks.

The pavement was jacked up in that spot on the T side. Some Some genius put in a steel road plate instead of fixing the pavement.

You had to watch it coming over the tracks. If someone stopped suddenly in front of you and you were on the plate, you slid until you hit the pavement.

We had a pacer , no trouble with sliding out in that slow beast.

My father at one point bought a v8, it was a small chevy monza.
Loved racing people as they all were sure it had a slow 4 cylinder.
The surprised look on their faces as we went flying by.

That car was so heavy in front, from a standstill could do a donut just by hitting the gas.
We did not drive it in the snow or rain, could barely stick to asphalt.

Had to replace the wishbones up front and motor mounts a few times as they were not made to handle the engine weight and torque. It was the California version with supposedly 140 HP.

It was an awful off white, not the same but close to this:

My step-dad had one with the V8. I had the Pontiac version with the 4 cylinder.

There was a huge difference in performance between the two

Plane loaded with drugs makes emergency landing on Southern California highway

Don't you just hate it when the engine in your drug mule plane quits and you have to land in the middle of a busy freeway soon to be swarmed by police  :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Almost forgot.
Mine had the Levi's interior.
In the day I had Levi's shoes, pants, shirts, jackets, belts and a car.
Talk aboot hungup on denim.:ROFLMAO:
So did mine, it wore surprisingly well. The blue jean waist button was an attention getter.

They still had accidents then. Chains and studded tires were also used.
I still use studded radial snow tires and have chains available on 4x4 and/or awd.

I've had some mighty dangerous high-horsepower vehicles in my day, but even I would want a seatback on that stool. :D
No thanks, i already had a skull base fracture 2 years ago by falling from a freakin bicycle.
When we built our buggy 15 years ago after my mate got his right hand paralyzed after a car crash, we made it crash safe. Colleagues at the time said, after showing the pictures "what do you want, derby it and bash straight through standard vehicles?" I said no, just knowing we will be safe in the worst case scenario"

This was at original 90hp setting. Later we turned that CAV pump open as far as we could, but i think anything beyond 120hp was just smoke.

Nonetheless we knew with that 1-3/4" construction tube truss siderail, helmet, and a 5 point seatbelt, we would walk away from any crash with mere bruises.

I do find it interesting that you used english measurements there...

I could have said 42.4x2.65 but its easier for me to translate, than for you.. 😉

Perhaps its 1-1/4 because with English measurements you never know when to take OD or ID..

Actually, English measurements are obsolete because Great Britain uses Metric... 🤔🤣

I broke a rib this summer, pretending I was still a teenager, while being towed way too fast behind a boat in the keys. Slowed me down for a few weeks, but I'll still climb aboard.

Someday, someone's going to be viewing my corpse, and thinking "man... that dude lived!"

I'm a little surprised by your shoes. Obviously people actually do wear clogs there? I thought it
was an old timey thing that had passed into history.
(no judgement - I heard they were comfortable)

They get expensive now production numbers drop. Payd 36,50 euro today. 10 times more expensive than when i was a kid, but off course i grew a few sizes.

But for example street pavers, people who lay paving bricks, they all wear them because they dont bend and squeeze off your toes when youre working on your knees all day.

For me, i need orthopedic soles, or i can walk on wood. I like walking on wood, it gives great support. I just hold the heels against the belt sander a bit so they roll easier. Like Nike did with running shoes at the turn of the century.
