Milwaukee 18V impact gun?

Something I forgot in the earlier post: Even if you don’t buy local, I try to but can’t always. Check what brands the locals sell. My locals all sell DeWalt and Milwaukee, one of the farm and tractor stores sell a limited line of Makita, and the local Ace Hardware sells Craftsman. It can make a large difference when the battery dies and you need a new one, or you “need” a different flavor of tool to complete a project over the weekend. The local Ace has a good selection of DeWalt and Milwaukee, and can get most things, delivered to the store for pickup, in two working days. One of the local ranch and tractor stores, has an almost complete line of DeWalt in stock, and will ship to either home or the store in two days. If you live rural, it is sometimes nicer to have things sent to the store for pickup, as opposed to having them left next to the road, because the package won’t fit in the mailbox, and the drivers are too intellectually challenged to place things in the 48X36X36-inch box labled “Parcels - UPS, FedEx, and USPS Oversize” in 4-inch reflective letters next to the mail box.

I have a model 265820 which great for just about anything. Also got the Milwaukee 1/2” drive metric and inch inpact socket sets. There have been times when I have to use the old standby craftsman corded impact for the more stubborn bolts.

I'm the OP on this and my new medium power Makita is supposed to arrive today. I bought it at Amazon despite trying to buy local. My only fear is to make sure I have an original factory product, never opened or used and not a factory second. That can happen.
It showed up a few minutes ago and I couldn't wait to open it. Sadly and with deep disappointment I realized the original box was opened, crudely, and had been taped shut, also poorly, and resold to me. I opened the box the Makita package was in, realized what was going on and wife will wrap for return. It's going back. Why would Amazon ship this way and resell returned items as new?

Basically that amounts to a used item at nearly the street price for it. Not for me so I'll advise when I get another from someone local. That would have to be an Amish store and I'm not going that direction for a week or two.

This is why I try to buy local. Sure, local is $20 more but it supports people that also have the odd hardware parts I need.

Man that sucks, I ran into that buying a DeWalt drill from Amazon. Sent me a used tool that was missing parts. Since then if I have to buy online I buy from a reputable site like Lowes, HD ect.

I bought a M18 model 2767-20 last year and love the tool.
It replaces four other electric and two air.
If I were to buy today I would get the model 2967-20 which is the latest unit and even more powerful.
The 2967-20 is the newest model, has the 3 LED lights and is on sale for $225 on Amazon now.

That does happen. The ones I bought off Amazon were new, unopened though. Sorry you got bit, but at least it was Amazon and easy to return.

What was the price, if I may ask?

Looking at Amazon, the 14Z is $229. Home Depot has it for the same price, free shipping if needed.

Another place I have purchased Makita from is Tool Nut, and their price is also $229 w/ free shipping: XWT14Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 4-Speed 1/2" Sq. Drive Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Anvil, Tool Only

As well as Tractor Supply, but ship to store only: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/makita-18v-lxt-1-2-in-drive-impact-wrench-w-ring-xwt14z

I ran an auto repair shop for years and used primarily Milwaukee for our cordless impacts and drills. I also like their recip saws. They are all great but I have started moving to Ridgid in recent years. The prices are good, quality isn't much less than Milwaukee but the big plus is the free lifetime service guarantee. I've received several free batteries & new chargers free under this warranty. So far no actual tool failures but I expect they will honor the agreement based on how easy they have replaced other things.

I am going to buy a 1/2" drive impact gun and likely a Milwaukee 18V. Trouble is, I'm confused by the many choices. This is what I think I want:

My use is lighter farm work, mostly for lug nuts and cultivator shovels. I'm tired of dragging around an air hose. I don't want one that's too heavy. Does anyone own this or other 1/2" Milwaukee impact gun that can offer advice or experience?

It would be easier to buy Makita things, because I already own plenty, but I'm not sure the quality is still there.
I have both Milwaukee 2767-20 and a older Craftsman 19.2 volt torque wrench. Both work great for anything 1/2 inch. But I love my Milwaukee tools. And if the warranty matters take a hard look at the milwaukee warranty it is hard to beat. Only thing, like others have said the milwaukee is heavy, but it is built to last.
