I just bought a foam cannon for my pressure washer. I’m going to try some of the car wash and wax products. Foam it up, let sit awhile, then rinse with low pressure nozzle.

I would not contemplate washing my Ride-on , they are not made like cars (proof-coated) so rust etc can get a hold quite easily
Any stubborn marks come off with a damp cloth/chamois
Also do not use the deck wash feature as it can clean out the grease from the spindles very quickly

Here’s a copy and paste from the other forum. He actually uses three cups per 5 gallons.

“No soap. 3 cups WD40 in a 5-gal bucket….forcefully add water…used for soap/detergent. It dissolves grease, and leaves a “chamois” finish that water beads-up and runs off. Lubricates rubber weatherstripping and gets into crevices, lubricates hinges/latches and prevents rust. (This is an old “Hints from Heloise” trick…only she recommended kerosene in water instead of WD40 for car wash. I use this same formula on my never-polished in over 20+ -years, 1953 airplane instead of soap (which dulls aluminum.) Blah! No Soap!)”
Back LONG time ago I worked at a used car lot as a detail man. Worked with a guy that used the kerosene method that could put a shine on a junk yard model T. I never could get the hang of it as many times as he tried to show me.

No it’s a tractor it’s gonna get real dirty real fast. As I get older I meticulously cleaning cars isn’t really on my list of priorities anymore. My 69 charger and hellcat challenger are garage kept but I couldn’t even tell you the last time I properly cleaned them.
You need to keep it nice for the next owner.

I've never washed my 1999 Kubota since I bought in about 2003 other than to knock the mud off the tires and fenders so I don't drop it all over the yard and driveway.

Wash a few times a year. Wax and sometimes WD-40 on black plastic occasionally.

I wipe the slopped diesel over the hood of the tractors to make them look new.

I try to spread it around so it looks more uniform opposed to the splotches

Well.... I used to sell new and used tractors for a living. I had a 3000 sq ft. indoor showroom that always had at least 25 -30 tractors at all times.
At the used tractor side of the building I kept the yanmars, and people always commented about how nice and shiny the used tractors were.
They were all waxed and made to look presentable to the new owners.
So I would say that shine does help sell a used tractor and it brings extra money with it.
One Saturday I sold 5 used tractors, with tillers and mowers.

I sold my Dodge 2002 4x4 LB diesel pickup, it was in meticulous condition and waxed every 6 months.
Well, I sold it for almost what I paid for it 21 years earlier.
Shine does sell....

Sometimes I spray off the dust, and recently I have cleaned the old grease up, but no, I don't 'wash or wax' it

On vehicles; I do wash my truck and wife's car after love bug season and when they get real dirty; but maybe a month ago, I made the mistake of parking near a wild cherry tree, and wow, the seedy, purple, gritty bird poop really pops on a white truck...

I recently bought a foam canon for my pressure washer and filled it with a car wash/wax product. I used it on my Jeep and it covered the vehicle with a thick clinging foam. After letting it soak for a bit, I rinsed it. The jeep turned out sparkling clean with no scrubbing. I’m going to try it on my tractor soon.

I got one of those things that uses regular dish soap. Cars come out real clean with no scrubbing. Soap, rinse, and dry.

I think I could use any soap in my foam canon. But dish soap does strip the wax, so I use a car wash/wax product.

My tractor is always parked in a large carport - out of the sun - when not in use. The dust provides a protective layer for the paint.

I brush the dust off the seat - wipe the bird poop off the steering wheel - before I sit down.
