Early this spring I put a post on about my Miller legend that did not have welding current. It did have electricity current. I talked to two miller dealers with no success. A month ago I took it out and fired it up still no welding current. This machine has not been used for welding for quite some time. I took the amperage lever and moved it to Min to 40 then 40 to 55 and all the way high and back to 55 to75. I now have welding current. Those terminals must have got a little tarnished from sitting around and not being used. I do have a working welder now.

Nice of you to offer this experience. It's this kind of thing that keeps forums alive - advise and experience. You may have a beer...should you be inclined.

And I thought this thread was going to be about Miller portables - bottles and cans versus full kegs.

I had the same solution for my $25 HF MIG-180. Previous owner must have stored it in a humid location.

Running the knob from A to F several times while holding the trigger down, restored the current and it has worked fine ever since. The wiper must have had a scorched spot.

if accessible, you may consider a spray elec contact cleaner, or even carb cleaner, etc to help remove any oxidation on the contact surfaces.
