Sadly, so many of those old photos were taken using cameras with less-than-great resolution. Even a cellphone camera runs rings around them.
Actually, the photos from the 30s - 50s are mostly excellent pictures. It’s the instamatic cameras from the 70s that sucked.

We had what I think was called a 110 film camera. Tiny little negatives, poor pictures. And then the flash cubes. …..

Yep. We had those, too.

Anyone else make a pinhole camera with a 110 film cartridge?

I won some science fair as a kid making one of those and documenting the process/use/results. Pretty fun to play around with... back when we had no electricity, indoor plumbing, etc... :ROFLMAO: OK, it wasn't that far back.

Found this...

Wouldn't have considered wasting that expensive film

It was for the benefit of science.

I recall making a pinhole camera from a 126 cartridge and a 35mm cardboard box as well.

Took some pictures of my mom's dog with black and white film. It was fascinating stuff for a kid.

Yes it is… there has to be a story there.

Grandpa’s equipment was old from the horse and oxen days but he switched to tractor in 1948 and 50 years later that hand crank diesel was still in service and so was the hay rake!

Maybe a repeat on this one, as I can't remember if I posted before. Dad's first tractor. He said he traded a team of horses for it. My oldest sister and brother. The dog's name is Hoppy. The building is where we kept our laying chickens. Used to be a little dug hole behind it full of water, I remember running little battery powered boats in it when I was little. Photo around 1954.

in the 70s, There was a row of trees about the top where mowed today, separating the fields. found this 1975 picture of them. in mid 70s we cleared out the trees using our little dozer. Found a 1976 picture with dirt there, so must have cleared late 75-early76.

He is a strong worker. When he quits, he will be gone soon. Enjoy him every minute you can. I can not stress that enough
Yes, I spent Father’s Day weekend there. He really enjoyed that, and my wife fixing him meals.
I mowed a bunch Saturday, my brother came today. Dad mowed about 15 minutes this morning and got dumped on.
