With the hose out of that hole, you should be able to get a narrow round file in it; tilt the file so it's working at the edge and rotate it around in a circle to work at the edge. Get the edge you can barely see, and the top one too. Consider disconnecting the other hose so you can check that hole too, or you can wait for it to leak if you want to just find out if there's a burr there too.

You may need to move the cylinder out of the way to work the file around.
Don't be discouraged, it's a fun voyage to figuring out how to maintain everything and you've done a great job finding the leak already.

The rodent is unlikely to have cause enough damage to breech a hydraulic line.

Get an endoscope for your phone or stand alone. It comes in very handy to see what is going on in tight spaces.

There is a burr or sharp edge in there somewhere that wore thru the hose.

You have it apart - a big part of the job. You should be able to see some rubber (with the endoscope) on the wear surface inside the boom.

Best to take the time to find the cause.

Hate to say it, but a hose worn to the steel usually doesn't leak. No more than a radial tire worn down to the steel belts does.

This is absolutely true.......I should not just assume!

Now that you have the hose off stopper one end, bend it into a U shape at the worn part and immerse in a pail of water.......then with a duster attachment on your air compressor hose (use some electrical tape or rubber if you need to enlarge the duster end to get a seal) on the other end and put a little air in the hose (you don't need a whole lot of pressure in the hose).

Look for air bubbles in the water to confirm the fact that you have found the source of the leak.

IF you are not getting an air leak on the hose, you are back to finding the source of the leak. This going to mean reattaching the hose, getting an endoscope and with hydraulic pressure on the system, visually looking for the leak.
