Auger bit for stump removal? Really??

Ok.. I saw this auger bit that someone supposedly used on a Facebook post for a stump grinding..
the more question I asked, the more I doubted…

To save yall the collective bung output, I wonder have yall seen a bit used for that?

That "screw" in the center, does pull the bit into the wood... I'm not saying anyone took a stump out with one, but I'm betting it will self feed.

I looked at stump planes for my ssqa auger, but I don't think my tractor has the hydraulic umph to handle it. The ones I've seen on YouTube required down pressure, and were all on skid steers, or very large ag tractors.

Sorry, no way that screw would pull that thing thru a hard root. Heck, even my self feed wood bits dont really pull it thru wood.

As others have said, maybe on a SSQA auger. There's no way I'd hook that up to my 3pth unit. What happens when it gets stuck and you can't reverse it?

The guy who did my tree work had an expensive stump auger for his CTL that he said he regretted buying because he said it was so slow.

They make special high TQ low speed hydraulic drive augers for these stump grinders.

They also make cone splitters. Perhaps one could knock the stump into small enough pieces that it would come out with other equipment.
