Just helped a friend buy a 2008 JD 3038e. Now we want to put 2 rear remote hydraulic connections on it.
1. How and where does this connect?
2. What do we need and how do we do it?
Any suggestions appreciated.

What about this kit?
Looks like that is for a Massey Ferguson which means the bracket probably won't work & the hose probably won't be correct...

The kit Brain (MtnViewRanch) listed above seems like the right fit for the tractor... (even over the Summit ones I listed)... & lets face it... Brian knows his stuff... Hydraulics are his business...

It's probably an item that is worth spending the big green money on. Just make sure it's "turn key" and has everything included. They have a way of selling multiple "kits" to accomplish what common sense tells you should only be 1 "kit".
I'd suggest at least investigating ($$) a 3rd function kit at the same time.
For most folks it's as handy as 4wd and you'll have the full "boat" hydraulic option(s) for attachments. 👍

I bought the JD kit for my 1025 when I bought the tractor new. I installed the kit. Ultimately, I was mostly happy, though JD did a few things wrong: There were nearly twice as many lines, and some mounting plates as I needed. Okay, so different versions of the tractor may require different lines, but for an expensive kit, I have nearly as much left over as I installed - and I can't return the unused new parts. The major parts (lines & mounting plates) came loose in a large box, with no caps on the lines. So I blew them all out with care. The small parts, including the control stickers were all poured into on plastic bag - the stickers were munched.

I'm happy with the fit and function of the kit, but there were some customer satisfaction misses. I'm kinda thinking that maybe JD parts sales do not intend that the tractor owner do the installation. If done at a JD dealer, the tractor owner would not see the wasted excess parts!

My friend with the JD 3038E decided to buy a valve cluster and cylinders for a DIY installation. Which is fine. He's more than capable of making brackets and hoses.
My question now is where do we plumb into the hydraulic system for the supply and return?

My 3038e has power beyond...a hydraulic loop that I uncouple, connecting to valve for hydraulic top link cylinder, etc.

Look at the links Brian (@MtnViewRanch ) and I posted above and download the install instructions, that should help you determine where the feed and returns go.
