"employees must not ride on platforms or walkways and must not ride on steps when coupling"

What does that leave as acceptable locations?
When cars couple, you can get thrown off. I recall riding a car down a slight grade while riding a car. We struck the coupler on some parked cars and really felt a jolt. Maybe they don't want employees riding the car while coupling them?

They're run here too, I think. I'm no expert, but I've seen warning signs at train yards warning about "unoccupied" switching locomotives, or something similar.
In the NS Elkhart yard, some of the switching locomotives are remote controlled. You can tell which ones by the flashing yellow lights on the tops of the locomotives.

A friend sent a YT link of a couple doing the Denver CO to Moab UT scenic route. They only travel during the day and spend the night at a hotel in Glenwood Springs. The basic trip is $1,699 or a fancier upgrade with food and exclusive lounge car options over $2K. Since they are the lowest priority there were several delays on their trip. The company: https://www.rockymountaineer.com/
Link to video I watched. Typical YT couple, slightly annoying or I'm just grumpy...

I did not know that diesel locomotives have the letter F on the front of them.

There had to be a way to designate the front on center cab, boxcab, and no-cab locomotives.

Photos from a ore car derailment in July 1968 at Two Harbors MN. Note the damage of those cars and I do not see ribbon rail being used here. I worked on cars damaged at derailments. But not that bad!

I see those little cars are limited to 220K GVW, and carry 175K payload. Interesting dump mechanism on the side, too.

The first time I worked as a carman was at a retire army depot site located in SW South Dakota called Igoo. This is located along BNSF double main line. I looked for photos or drone views of the site and didn't come up with much of the rail yard there but here is a poor one. We worked within the buildings seen here. Its doesn't look that from this distance photo but those buildings are quite large.
