2014 3500HD button on dash. What does it do?

Still truck shopping for an HD.
Have seen a few with this button/knob. What is it for?
Some 2500/3500 HDs don’t have it.

My 2011 Chevy 2500 does not have a button like that.

Whatever it is , it's in an awkward place for the driver to access.

Thanks, I looked for about 10 minutes and couldn’t find what it was.
Makes sense as it was on a 3500 cab/chassis with a dumping flatbed.
Pickups mostly have a cubby hole.

How It Works​

2020 GM HD trucks will utilize a PTO that’s drive gear operated via a chain to direct engine power. Since PTO on the trucks is engine-driven rather than turbine-driven, owners can use the PTO while the vehicle is idling. A button inside the cab enables the PTO, and a mode selector allows adjustment of load and torque output.

The General says that the 2020 GM HD trucks will be the first in the HD truck segment to feature a fully integrated PTO system.

I don't know about 2020 GM's being the first to have PTO's off the transmission (if I read that right). My 2011 F250 has the Allison trans that is pto capable, but was only offered as an option by Ford on the F350.
I always though it would be cool to power a big generator head off the truck.

within GMC in the HD class what ever that means, it was past from the GMC website... but op truck in question is a 2014 and it has it but it's a 350 ... I simply wanted to know the functionality of the PTO. here is the link I pasted it from.

Doesn’t your truck have a Torqshift transmission?

My IH-7500 has an Allison Rugged Duty Series and the PTO is on the side of the transmission.
My Ram 5500 has a PTO which I can turn on/off via a switch on the dash, but I don’t have a dump bed (would love to have a PTO air compressor, but BIG $)

I checked my specs, you are correct. Not sure where I got Allison from, but that has been my belief for the past 10 years!
