GM TBS, yes it’s a great place to lose myself out there ! Time just flies by quickly, but hopefully I am making progress on the project !

Thomas, sorry that you had so much storm damage over your way ! No power is not much fun as I well know !

Don, those temps down your way are crazy ! Hopefully it doesn’t last too long !

Bill, sounds like your tractor gets unbelievable economy ! My old Massey does not !

Some more shop time today along with a dump run !

unfortunately with elections this year, and all the craziness involved, it will be harder for all of us
to simply stick with what brings us all together, not what pushes us apart.
but for all these years it has been worth the effort, and this thread has done well
self policing.

does anyone in our group have a greenhouse?
The tiny one I had in NC gave me an enormous amount of satisfaction.
At this time four years ago I'd be watching beans sprout up, growing so fast you could almost see them move.
Am thinking this might be a fun thing to do in the future when done my rv'ing.

what I did learn with the greenhouse is temp control was critical and I burned up a lot of plants when it got too hot in there
on a sunny day. Plus I'd need to configure some kind of propane heater.
But to sit in a warm humid greenhouse where everything smells green on a very cold day outside,
watering and fussing with little plants, it's great fun. Would mean a bigger garden in the back yard also.

It's minus 8 degrees Fahrenheit or minus 22 Celsius this morning. That's the coldest we've seen in quite awhile. The furnace and 3 little space heaters are taking turns keeping us warm.

Edit: I saw your later post after you got home. That sounds like a rough welcome to drive up to. Glad you had the Kubota and got power back on.

Good morning all. 42F at 5am, quite warm.

Extremely powerful windstorm raged all night. Power out 8 hours now. We have a fireplace and a generator so we are fine. Will check on neighbors when it gets light.

It's 27f this morning here in E. Texas. Wife and oldest son are on their way back to Central Texas. All roads seem to be clear as far as we could tell.

Weather forcast has improved in that no single digit lows are predicted and the predicted high temps have increased. Showing a slight chance of snow for Monday but I'm kinda doubting it will happen.

Right now it's showing 8f in Lubbock with no snow predicted this week. So, if it's not snowing in the Tx Panhandle I dont know if it's even actually winter.

Meanwhile the reported temp now in Santa Monica is 46f and looking for a high of 60f today.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
For some reason can't get my butt out of low gear get moving this morning.
Plans for today...try scrape driveway etc. of frozen yesterday storm...going to be interesting,watch some football and numb it the rest of the day.

Good morning! 21˚F (-6˚C) wind chill of 16˚F, cloudy heading to only 29˚F with a chance of a "wintery mix". We may be hunkered down for a while because people here don't know how to drive on ice.
Still can't tell for sure if there is ice on the roads, it does not look like it.
