Before I finished my coffee, Fedex delivered my parts. Had to rethink my day.

Decided it best to perform the electrical fix. Took some time to review both instructions and some YouTube. Coordinated with Cottage tenant to interrupt power at 1PM.
Physical replacement actually went well, but mismatched firmware needed updates. But success. Second replacement fix went faster.

Have to ship back the replaced parts.

Drinking second cup of coffee. 44° with cloudy skies and light fog this morning. Heading to 47° with chance of rain. Need winter to get here. This rain everyday is getting boring. Got all the fitting together for valve on tractor. Not sure I will get it installed on tractor today.
Woodpeckers are going through a lot of suet cakes. Need a trip to Menards to restock.

Morning all!
Very warm here for us. Looks like rain and in the upper 40's for the next couple days.
Started picking up some of the outside decorations while the weather complies.
Quiet week ahead with just a few projects on the agenda. Wife is working today so I will head to my cousin's to check out a small project he wants to do. Have errands to run while I'm out and about.
Pushing my luck on the stomach issues with all this cookie and cake stuff leftover! Need to give it away! Have a New Years party at one of my sisters. Hopefully can control myself till then. {doubt it}Lol!
Made a New Years project in the shop. Baby New Year chasing Father Time into the New Year on and old time wind up clock. Once the holiday is over I can push out the face and mount an actual working mechanism in it. The only thing I didn't make is the copper wire and the screws.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.

Good morning !

Hope you all had nice Christmas. Sorry for those who had to spent this time in bed

We had beautiful Christmas evening. Had a little argument with wife - is Die hard a Christmas movie or not 😁. Kids was with me, but wife wanted to watch something relaxing. At the end we won remote control, but it turned out that there is something wrong with telly and at the end we played Monopoly 😁

Next morning went to "rancho", had nice dinner with wife's mother and brother. With BIL took a long walk in woods.

That autumn storm have left broken trees in 3 spots. We almost have cleared 2 spots already. "almost" because we took only pine and spruce, there was few birches, we left them for later. While birch have roots in the ground they can lay there for a while. Pine becomes "blue" = worthless very fast
But just now we realized that third spot is biggest, full with birch. It seems that we have done just half of total volume. Till now we were just looking from the edge of that third forest and thought that it will be another easy-peasy job. No.
Good thing is, that that last spot is dry. recently here we have had a lot of rains and snow. Ground is soaking wet. It's so bad that during this walk I almost lost my boots in field. But the forest we have to clear is somehow on higher ground and we have nice road there. So we still have a chance to be productive those coming days

We have left just few birches at first 2 spots. I just hope we can drive there to pick them up.
This one looks nasty

This week here is somehow sooo badly screwed (actually I would like to use some F word :))
Half of companies are closed, some are working fully, some - only maintenance teams.
My secretary is at vacation and so are few technicians. Still we have one last machine tomorrow to offload. I will visit few more customers today / tomorrow
Wife is "bureaucrat" - she is one of top managers of national emergency medicine system. That is state owned / ruled organization, they can't voluntary just "make it a holiday". And they have like 30 new viu-viu wagons coming in - lot of work for registration etc. She have to be for acceptance, payments and so
Volkswagen have deadline to hand those vans over latest at 31/12/2023. It seems that those bastards will take all of their time. No cutting corners
Kids are at home for holidays
I am just fighting snow. We have like 1/2 inch - inch every night. Not to leave not to clean. i am cleaning my backyard and driveway. Still have layer of half melted half frozen snow / ice. Hate that, but not much I can do. I will not salt my road

Have a nice Wednesday !

50 and rain going to 56 and rain.

m70, how's that Kilimanjaro? Very interesting bag.

Kyle, hope you get 100% well soon. I've read about that micro clotting causing a lot of problems.

Hope you are better, too, Fuddy and PJ. Not a good time to be sick. My wife is better, but not 100%. Thanks for your prayers and wishes.

Dang, Phil, what are you gonna make next out of wood...a working cell phone? That clock looks cool.

Helo, your snow may be frustrating, but it's pretty. I have a question for you...I read recently about the % of households that own stock...that is, equity shares of publicly traded companies...Estonia was number 1 in the world, with Lithuania and Latvia in the top 6. Does your country have a financial or cultural tendency to be savers and investors? Finland and Denmark were also in the top 8. I think this is very wise.

I ducked under the shelter yesterday during the drizzle and split the rest of my firewood...still have some big rounds back in the woods, but too wet to go after them. Got a little seat time moving the full pallet over to storage for next year, but then it started raining like it meant it.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

53.3F going not much more, rain allegedly ending soon.

We did a really good job of keeping the sofas from wandering off into traffic yesterday, I did make two frittatas which I am cubing and freezing for easy meal/snack once we start working with the tax stuff next week, which also means my posting here may become a bit erratic for a while. . . As in timing, not content🤣😂🤣

I also won my ePrey auction, out-sniped another sniper and still paid considerably less than my max bid. I pirchased a Horton Vision 75 crossbow when they first came out. It was the first “reverse draw” crossbow on the market, and with my dislocated shoulder issues it was a game-changer for bow hunting for me. But since it was so new, few accessories were immediately available, primarily a crank-còcker and a case, and they were always either back ordered or sold out. This auction had the crank, case, NIP spare limbs, standard pull-cocker, and a complete crossbow ready-to-go, for the price of the crank and case new 20 years ago, if it was even obtainable (which it was not for me). So that was a good win!

About a dozen years after that, Horton sold out to a competitor, which also means no parts are readily available, so that second crossbow is a complete spares package for me 😎👍

Mom has to go for Prolia shot today, so a little admin running around this morning, and I may try a sunset hunt today as I don’t think I will have time to do any sunrise hunting before the season runs out. It should be a muddy mess, but the deer will have been bedded down for two days with the rainy weather, plus with the wet leaves my lumbering fat-@$$ won’t make as much noise wandering in the woods…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Frankly - I am surprised about that fact ☺️

I would like to look on that from several POV

* personal. I am not stock owner. Never have been. I have my my own company, recently invested heavily in new office building.
+ have 5 kids, you can imagine spendings for them.
OK, my family, we are not poor even by USA standards, but also don't have that much free cash to think about where to invest it.
I am proud that I don't have any loans. Once I will recover from this construction affair I will thing about some stocks.
Wife have not bad salary, but looking on her responsibilities I would say - not that big. Still - good enough to live decent life. She always have been more keen to invest in real estate. Now looking from perspective have to admit that was not a mistake. We are owners of our own house and apartment in Riga. Rather worthy assets. And as I wrote - credits are paid.

* historical. I am not yet 50. But me myself already have seen:
- sovjet rubles (at end of their regime there was "reform" - comunists just re-printed 100 rub note and almost overnight everybody had to exchange their savings to new notes. If person had more than 10 notes (1000 rub), milicija have asked tough questions).
- Then was Latvian rubles. 1991 + few years.
- Then was Latvian Lats.
- Now since 2014 we have EUR.
Now people believe in EUR, but tradition to not to keep cash at home / account is very much live

* statistical. Per capita.
I like it when people of Iceland say they have most Noble prize owners. Per capita. One. :ROFLMAO: But as entire population of Iceland is 300k, this is very true ... 😁
Latvia is less than 2.000.000. Estonia is even smaller - 1.500.000 something souls.
What I want to say - for us it's rather easy to reach high figures "per capita".
Baltics are not match to very rich Scandinavian countries which are the wealthiest countries in the world. But we are not that bad either. + Nord EU have rather good wealth distribution. For example living in gated community here is considered bad style.
And our figures are very transparent. People here can't hide their assets without risking to loose them.

* general, public sentiment.
politicians, opinion leaders are promoting investment in JSC. It's rather easy to do, banks are open for this affairs.
Baltics are small and open economics. We have had the same issues you had - inflation, overheating of economy etc. And with that recent bull run of inflation investment in stocks is one of safest moves. IMHO

May I recommend Michelbob’s Ribs right across Airport-Pulling Road tomorrow? Absolutely fantastic baby back ribs! One of the places I miss going to since leaving Naples…

We have been there often, and the food is good, but we’re dropping off people and plan to get refueled and leave as quick as possible so I might get something done at home. If the fuelers are backed up, we’ll likely walk over.

Good Morning
43° and raining, probably go up a few degrees as the rain continues throughout the day.

Yesterday was consumed entirely with the Palm Beach trip, started with a 2 hour delay due to the volume of traffic going to Florida. We got rerouted along the way due the traffic, took us inland instead of over the water. Longer route and more head wind as well. Ride home was better from the delay standpoint, but we were capped at 37,000 feet instead of the 45,000 that we filed for, and would have been above all the clouds and with more favorable winds, and a better ride. But we got where we wanted to go regardless.

Today’s trip to Naples looks like a likely repeat, except this time I filed for a departure time an hour before my planned departure, hopefully that will absorb a lot of the anticipated delay if I guessed right. But I have no hopes of accomplishing anything else for the day.
On the bright side, if we are delayed in Naples, we will go get some BBQ!

if that was all snow Buppies you would really be socked in.
And I'd sure find out how my snowblower works
actually with rv and car hogging up the driveway, not much to clear...

light rain here, lot more coming
sounds like an energy conservation day

Safe travels and a quick turnaround!

I just checked, we have a proposed departure slot at 13:47, almost four hours later than I filed!
I don’t think there are delays going to FT Meyers, if that’s the case, we might take them there and let them rent a car and drive to Naples, as that will save them at least 3 hours. We will see.
