Morning all, 34 going up to 40 and cloudy.
Wind yesterday knocked over a lot of stuff which I will need to fix today.
Got paint finished on Light ball, need more zip ties to finish.
WU says 2.6" of rain, my gauge got emptied by the wind.

Up early for UK meetings, pretty useless, but leaving that group soon.

Be well,

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 29 to start going to 40 ! Sunny skies today, Amen ! 🙏

Kilroy, thanks for that video, yes have heard that song, and it was amusing this morning !

. Windshield etchings "pack'd" on, the 600 dollar "protection package", etc etc. So much phony "mandatory" options, none
of which offer good value to the consumer, and most are complete ripoffs.
GM Drew ,
Last purchase for me was my 2017 F-150 ! The salesman wanted me to pay for window etchings, I refused ! Take delivery of the truck and the windows had been etched previously!! 😉😳

Will go down to the basement shortly, to see if I have any puddles left ! We have gotten 63” of rain YTD ! We don’t need any, anytime soon !

Hope all have a Great Day ! 🙏

oldest son called late last night, and we talked till about 1:30 am.
still not feeling well, so far just using vicks. took a long nap yesterday afternoon, expect the same today.
Dentist never called me back about re scheduling for today's appointment, so I guess I'll show up and see what happens. Don't feel like going. My dentist does good work, but getting them on the phone has always been a problem, but more so in last 2-3 yrs.
My camera at the VA lot showed some snowing action around 7pm but soon stopped.
I have a new trash company as of this month, the old company sold out. I'll stay with the company they sold to for awhile and see how they do. They supply a can, and they use mechanical arm on truck to dump the can, so no tip on the can.
My last Mazda purchase went well. I'll take the floor mats and such. Usually foreign cars have very little extra's added, they are packaged up well. American cars on the other hand, are a pain, as they nickle and dime everything. Oh, would you like a windshield on the car, that's another $2500........
I don't even know what etched glass is, so I've never had that.

Part of I 70 was shut down from a truck accident. Apparently knocking down a scaffold and causing 12 car crash

Also women fell down from cliff on AT north of Harpers ferry and had to be rescued by helicopter hoisting her up
Fortunately no injuries. I saw one person said their car was impaled by a piece of steel. That's the bridge I use a lot. They have half the concrete removed to redeck it, and they have the hanging boards under it to catch any falling objects, only an overheight truck hit it. Obvious the truck missed all the warning signs.
I had a pic of the helicopter rescue, but can't find it now.

Good morning! Another surprise freeze, 31˚F but with a south breeze heading to the mid 60s, partly cloudy 0% chance of rain.

Buckeye, etched glass is when they carve the VIN number on the vehicles glass to prevent theft.

Drew the law will not go into effect until late Summer 2024 so until then still have to just walk away and tell them will be back later in the year.

I took a beating with "Port" add ons from Toyota in College Station TX and also when I went to look at a XLT Ford Ranger in Austin under the Costco Auto buying program They had the truck in a stall adding dealer "add ons" less than the hour it took me to drive there. I walked away mad and they were bewildered because that was their sales model and it worked for them. Glad to see the new law. Now all dealerships will have to be good like Covert Ford in Hutto TX - only add the add-ons I request. No more nitrogen in tire and engraving glass and spare tire gets added without cost. Kia tried to get me with extended warranty and finance but I refused and requested another person to close the deal.

PT today. Yesterdays extended golf course walk had my knee throbbing last night so not quite ready for more than a mile, need to work up slowly.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 6:00AM. Rain. High around 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.
Mother Nature dropped an inch of rain here yesterday, and another 0.4" overnight. The wind was howling all night, beating the rain against the sliding glass door in the bedroom. Didn't get much sleep as a result.

If I tipped either my garbage or post men this year, it would be with coal. But they don't even deserve that.

I bought two new vehicles this year, and I found the information and tools at CarEdge.com very helpful. I paid a little below MSRP on each deal, with no F&I markups (not that they didn't try), no port additions on the Toyota. Asked about financing, but ended up paying cash. No, no, no worked for me, too, Drew.

Did a little more packing yesterday, filling the last spots in the van. Also brought in another cart of wood for the stove, and a bucket of wood chips for kindling, too. By dinner time the house had cooled down to 68 so the wood stove got lit.

Need to make a town run this morning, not sure what else is on the menu for today. Headed south tomorrow if the wind calms down.

The salesman wanted me to pay for window etchings, I refused ! Take delivery of the truck and the windows had been etched previously!

Same experience on my Prius Prime. I said no to everything in the back room, which they respected, but it did take a brief discussion on the window etching and other stuff like the $400 “document fee”.

Good morning.
31° when I woke up this morning, it’s 38 now which will likely be the high for the day. Sunny day with clear skies.

Yesterday was inside chores, I started cleaning off my shelves of avionics and listing them on eBay. Picked up wife ‘s car from inspection, went to Staples and used their color laser printer to print document, it did a great job, it was 100 pages, 2 sided and they cut it down to 5-1/2 x8-1/2 for me at no additional charge.
Oddfellows meeting was in person and uneventful.

Today started with breakfast with the professor, now I have to get some documents scanned and off to the lawyer to try to get my mom’s estate closed out after 2 years of nagging the attorney.
Not much else planned. Might fly the little plane with oldest son, and maybe even get the driveway markers installed.

Good morning! Low of 32°, heading to 48°. Overcast to partly sunny. Slight chances (30%) of rain / snow tomorrow and tomorrow night. The "big" system arrives Friday night....

Car dealers are the only business worse than attorneys.....
I basically do a bunch of research first, looking at the 'leader prices' from dealers across the region. Get the best prices and take them to the dealer to get matched.

Yes, the local Nissan dealer tries to add a bunch of add-ons. They do end up taking the costs off, but it's a comical site when I tell the salesman --- " the red alert system for the third brake light that you are trying to sell for $550 is nothing more than a 50 cent LED flasher off Ebay", "I'm surely not paying that". Once they know that I'm an "informed consumer", I get passed to a manager.

Off to do a bunch of errands, including getting the replacements for the missing hardware. At least the stops are all in a big circle about 10 minutes apart.

Everyone have a pleasant day!

New car buying is the worst. When you are talking about the price ask for the out the door price. That way they can't addon a bunch of extras when you sign the papers.
Now days I buy slightly used. Let somebody else take that depreciation hit.
In the past when I sat down in the closers room I started with an apology. I'm sorry I understand your job is to sell extras but I'm not buy 1 extra thing.
I got my golf cart conversion running yesterday, works good - go pedal as smooth as butter. Plenty of power and speed enough. Put the rear body back on and went for a ride. Ordered a new seat and shocks. Just need a roof and a cargo box to finish.
Hope you all have a great day.
