It may have been mentioned but I would go to the local courthouse for records of the property to get as much history as you can.

Many counties keep records of wells drilled as well, could be useful info there.

This is unbelievably cool. You are fortunate.

All I’ve found on my property and woods are rocks and trees!

Where I came from if you needed a post hole you basically just dug rocks out of the ground until you had a big enough hole. You couldn’t dig 6 inches without hitting a decent size boulder. So far I haven’t been able to find a single rock on the entire property. It’s very strange to me.
