I agree about the doors. I looked at the NX series and the Yanmar YT347C for the window and door configuration, but I decided I could live with the difference in cost.the only thing i dont like about Kiotis new cabs is the huge 1 piece door. on my 2011 model, there are 2 doors and a rear opening window, but there are also 2 vent windows on the side. great way to get some air flow when operating when i dont need ac or heat.
What kind of brush guard did you get? How well do the headlights shine past the brush guard? The 3rd function wiring connection is a bit sketch. I thought the dealer hacked it until I saw other like that. On the list to better protect and waterproof.
Already upgraded the lighting throughout to LED and added a brushguard.
Warranty items thus far was a sensor on the AC that needed replacing and the float indent was hard to engage. They replaced the whole valve unit vs repairing it.
2023 Update for all you researchers out there.
Well let's see...
1. I still really like the tractor. I am happy with the horsepower and lifting capacity it has.
2. Problems I have had so far: Brush disconnected the wires to the 3rd function once, Lost most of the hydro trans fluid while replacing the filters on the 50 hour service, Lost a bolt that connects the rear hitch position lever, Put a few nails into a front tire, Broke the rear window ($410) when I raised the rollover scraper onto the quick hitch, the handle on the scraper hit the open window. Lost enough refrigerant that the AC stopped working, Put a stick into the grill screen while using the grapple, Radio volume knob is getting iffy on the right side volume.
3. Options I would not buy if I had to buy the tractor again: none. I like all options I purchased, right down to the mirror in the cab and the armrests. The best option is the third function, closely followed by the Linked pedal and extra rear remote. I use the top and tilt much more often than I thought I would also. The top and tilt save time switching implements.
4. Things I plan to improve because they annoy me/I wish the factory had done better:
85 to 87 dB sound level is just too much for old ears. I plan to add some sound absorption materials to the cab.
The outside lights are pathetic. I plan to change them out and add side lights.
Make a better guard for the hydraulic system and third function valve. They supply a pathetic little box that doesn't protect all the wires and hoses. If I can lower the noise level in the cab, I will replace the radio and speakers with better ones. A better sound system is about $50.
Finally, I think I will put some little bumpers on the break release lever and the steering tilt mechanism stops. I don't like the sound they make when you release the brakes or tilt the steering wheel.
5. Fit and finish peves: Only one I can think of right now is the cover for the joystick mount does not fit closely with the fender cover
6. Implements I am glad I have:
Big Tool Rack carryall - I use the heck out of this. I did have to reinforce the frame of the carryall because I overload it, but it is working very well for moving tools, firewood, yard maintenance tools...
Everything Attachments 60" wicked grapple. I can pluck entire bushes straight up out of the ground and carry large logs and rocks.
The factory pallet forks are great. I use them far more often than I planned.
I have only used the PTO cruise control when I use the mower. It helped when I got into heavy brush alternating with no brush. Thanks for the update. I'm considering a DK4720SE and am thinking of the same add-on's. Didn't really consider the PTO cruise, but maybe I should. I'm also considering a 2nd and 3rd rear remote (I'd like to really get the Everything attachments all hydraulic rear blade).
I got the Broken Anvil guard. It works great with plenty of light coming through. I upgraded all the bulbs to LED, including the headlights, and replaced the front/rear work lights with LED. Multiples of brightness. I plow with it in the winter in the teens and no issues with lenses freezing over. What kind of brush guard did you get? How well do the headlights shine past the brush guard?
