Highbeams: Because the F'ers continuously refuse to turn back on immediately after a car has passed me on a dark country road at 45 mph. I like to see the deer before they jump into my path, not just when they're standing in the middle of the road in front of me. They also refuse to work in twilight, waiting until full-dark to engage, and also turn themselves off at every stop or turn, no matter how dark and desolate
Exactly!! Also, I have had them flash to high about 50 feet before meeting an oncoming car... I don't know what that was about. If you meet a car on a curve they won't dim until it's too late. I also tend to dim them sooner than the computer does.

that.
When I get so decrepit I can't roll the window down I'll stop driving!
I do like my power windows, especially when the passenger side has steamed up and I am turning left onto a road.

Lol the lights auto dim and out of habit I still try to manually dim inadvertently turning the brights back on.

Riding around with toddlers is a must during winter months. My old taco had manual windows my step son was three at the time he could legally ride in that truck provided passenger airbag was shut off. He loved sitting in the child seat and rolling down the window with his restless legs and feet in the middle of winter. I did not.

auto dim: my wife's car has them, and like most of you I hate them too. I keep the autodim setting on, but I drive the car as if the setting was off, watching for the tell-tale glow on trees or wires that another car is coming, dim them myself (because yes, they don't reliably stay dimmed until the other car has passed!). I also hate that the autodim won't allow the brights to be on under 25mph.

What large rubber bands are for.
I want a 2 door stick shift 8ft bed pickup. AC is nice but I could live without it. Vinyl seat, no carpet.
Most people nowadays don't use a truck as a truck!

I've gone from plain jane IH and GMC pickups to my current 2019 RAM with it's well optioned Laramie package.
While I could certainly get by without those fancy options you know what, I bought the truck with them and because of some of them.
I like them overall.

I don't have heated seats or satellite radio. Am I missing something? I tried Sirius for a while but didn't care for it. This also doesn't have adaptive lane change or all of that other crap mentioned in the article, that you have to pay for so you can shut it off every time that you start the engine.
My new company tru k has auto dimming headlights; usually I dim them before the feature does.
I suspect it would be like the Roxor... not meeting our safety and emissions standards. Yet is still would be a great vehicle to use around the property- if it came with 4WD. :D
Yes, you are missing out but the new technology is not for everyone. :D My new GMC 3500HD has heated and cooled seats that automatically turn on and reduce down as the temp hits the setting, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, heads up display, and customizable display. Not to mention the trailer system that has TPMS for all the trailers that shows air pressure and temperature, remembers the trailer brake setting for each individual trailer, and keeps track of each trailer's mileage & MPG and gives maintenance reminders based on mileage or time. Stereo automatically connects to my phone and plays my music when the truck starts up, with XM as a backup. Fourteen cameras makes towing much easier and safer as you get older and your neck gets stiff. Onboard diagnostics with Onstar to tell me why the Check Engine Light came on, plus road service and crash detection. Rear view mirror camera gives a much wider view than through the back window. Wife's new Cadillac XT6 has it all except to the trailer features. Makes taking a trip much more pleasant and worry free.

More than Half the options out there It would take the life of the vehicle to figure them out. I do know one option that's very convenient and worthwhile in my experiences using them, heated windshield wipers especial if you've ever driven in inclement cold weather, unfortunately it's either not available or have to upgrade to a upper trim level with a bunch of options I don't want or need.

This Toyota sounds like a mini version of the medium duty trucks I drove in the 70's. I could build a short stake side box and maybe put a log lift on it. (y)
