I'm anticipating a 14 hour burn at around 190-200°. Total weight just over 10 lbs ......
Paul, does this sound about right? And what do you think would be a good internal temp? --- I was thinking 165°?

I use 225 as a pit temp, and 203 for the internal temp for the meat. At 165, the meat is barely across “the stall”.
With a pit temp of 190, you’ll never get to 203. Using my numbers, it’s typically about 18 hours.
Last week’s brisket was a 16lb full packer, went in at 7:30pm, came out about 3:30 the following afternoon. Cooked to perfection.

67°F and .23 inches rain.

Plan was to finish the inside mowing but would have to dry out first.

Might watch some football. No strong loyalties as for team. Might look at local boy Tug or Mariota if they can stay healthy. Guess I could go back to Patriots now that TB retired.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Thanks Paul. I increased the temp to 225°. I'm planning on wrapping it in butcher paper at the stall. Do you increase the temp at the stall?
A few sites say to increase the pit temp to 275° at the stall, until internal temp at 205°.....???

This chunk is a full packer, around 8 lbs after trimming the fat, if that matters. Started at at 11.5 lbs, trimmed 3.5 lbs off.

The sheriff deputy laughed when he talked with me. I said, "Yes, that was me, I shot a squirrel with my shotgun, do you want to see it?" We live on 25 acres, and I made sure I was shooting in a safe direction the other way. For those who don't know, birdshot shotgun pellets don't travel much further than 200 yards, if that far. And they are about 1/2 the size of a BB. The scared horse owner had to be at least 300 yards away. I was shooting in the opposite direction. Deputy told me some stories of some idiots and their stray bullets. We had bought some grown chickens from his wife a number of years ago.

However after cutting open the wet ceiling, the drain pipe was wet on the top. At the tee for the vent going vertical. So today started with an excursion to the roof, where I found this-
Good Afternoon Guys,
Kyle, thats what I love about Vermont, walk out my back door and shoot a target or whatever, nobody even notices ! If I did that in Ct, we are in a subdivision on 1 or 1 1/2 acre lots, the police would be here before I could say my last name ! Birdshot wont travel 200 yards, especially 9 shot.

PopG, wondering why you just didnt slide a new boot over the vent pipe ? Would think that would be the easiest fix !

Took the grand kids to the zoo after church this morning, and we all got caught in a thunderstorm, so we all came home wet ! Looks like an easy afternoon, they will be leaving about 5pm.

Hope all have an enjoyable afternoon !

Dave, you may want to get a couple of pliers like these to pinch off fuel hoses and prevent spills while changing fuel filters

Thanks, Frits. I usually use vise grips. I mostly had an operator challenge. Didn’t realize that the temp filter had a vent hole and that became a gusher when I opened the line from underneath and I wasn’t able to reclamp in expeditious manner. When I install the proper filter I will add a shutoff valve. Fortunately I now have adequate space to pinch the hose without getting under tractor.

I will add that tractor runs like new now. I had noticed awhile back losing powder mowing uphill.
