No, it is brittle plastic not cloth, the plug prongs are round not flat on the recorder side. The electrical outlet plug side is not the problem the recorder side is.

Ok, but I was talking about the sewing machine. My old Singer came with a twisted pair cord.

Your recorder would be using wire instead of tape if it was as old as the sewing machine. ;)

Don, looking at that tape recorder, I'm going to guess it was designed for speech not music.
if it were an old Ampex, Akai or some decent quality tape deck, worth fiddling with.
Not sure that is....?

time to feed the birds.
my one good quality birdfeeder that is marketed as squirrel resistant, really seems to work.
The seed lasts twice as long in that feeder as the other one.
I tried some deluxe mix; what a misnomer. Full of millet.
Millet just rots on the ground...not many takers it seems.
sunflower seeds always popular and so are my unshelled peanuts I put out.
will the squirrels get them before the blue jays?
I swear I hear those jays chattering when I'm throwing out the peanuts.
the food alarm goes out and within minutes of me leaving, those blue jays are
swooping in. Fun to watch

Morning all,
It is a hot heavy humid day out already this morning, at 8:30AM it was 74F and 94%Rh.
Looking out my kitchen window
hazy hot humid morning Sep 5 2023 74F and 94%Rh.jpg

Then I thought I'd post these of some of the exterior work getting done to the house,
Having this stone put on at the kitchen entrance and along the garage wall and the face of the garage.
My father would be rolling in his grave, with me actually buying stone and paying to have it installed,
"could have gone out in any field and got all you needed, then just split them and cement them on" :)

Everyone stay safe and get well.

90° when I got up.
Last night I started tracking down problem with security cameras not working.
I put a writeup in the Starlink thread, since Starlink router doesn’t let you designate your dhcp range, it has begun to assign some duplicate IPs to wireless devices that I have set as static on cameras. The Starlink App no longer shows the IP for static connections like it used to. I put in a trouble ticket.
It seems I have to turn off whatever wireless device is using a duplicate IP, let the hardwired one use the IP, then turn on the wireless device to use a new IP. PITA. The real solution will be to stop using the Starlink router. Disappointed with their router lack of normal router feature, and disappointed in their mesh unit which gave me problems. It used to work, so obvious an update has broke things.
Anyways, late last night, or early this morning, I discovered one of my Ethernet switches in the basement was only 10/100 and not GigE. This was the switch between everything in house going to upstairs Starlink and was a major choke point. So made the GigE the primary and using the slower one to handle extra stuff. Maybe will order larger 16 port switch with 8 POE.
Barn camera still not working. I’m afraid heat in barn might have fried it, I had to replace that one last year.
Anyways, was up till 1:30 or so playing with it.
91° at high noon.

69°F and 0 rain

Need about another hour to finish mowing exterior are then I can start inside the fences.

Will add more salt to pool, a tedious endeavor as I broadcast with a red solo cup. Trying to avoid having it just sit undissolved at the bottom of the pool. But I do need to up the tempo a bit.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

87F and sunny @ 13:00, heading up to around 88F for the day's high. HI currently 94F, DP 67F, HU 52%, AQI 66. Under an Air Quality Alert for ground-level ozone until midnight.

High temp reached 91.2F yesterday, was pretty rude with all the humidity ... :(

Hauled recyclables up to the can at the road first thing while dump still hooked up. Then hauled the mower blades that need sharpened up to the shop, along with the new (to me) height-adjustable chair.

After that took 10 of the last 6" pots with dirt and weeds in them and broke them up into a 5 gallon bucket, extracting the weed roots. Will use the soil to pot more runners.

Got a little weeding and watering done on the strawberries.

Woman worked on cutting down and raking up the weeds on the east side of the garden while there was shade over there. Need to get that area sprayed in preparation for covering it with the last piece of weed block.

I did some weeding and thinning of the beets while She was doing that.

Once She lost the shade there She announced that it was time to go inside and cool off and have some bologna and tomato sandwiches and Her Mac salad for lunch. I followed Her in shortly after that ... :giggle:

After lunch got hopper feeder, two tube feeders, and suet feeder refilled. Now out of sunflower seeds, pretty low on safflower as well.

I decided to go ahead and start mowing the front lawn while it was still short enough to leave fairly short clippings.

When I was finished with that I dug out the grease gun and fired up the compressor down here in the garage and got the Chapin tow-behind spreader greased up.

Then fertilized the front lawn with nine 32 lb. bags (288 lbs) of 20-0-9 Fall Turf Food.

Woman was cooking up bacon for BLT's as I was finishing that up, had two when when I came inside around 20:00.

Went out around 22:00 and sat for a while and enjoyed the stars in the night sky.

Agenda for today:

Refuel Cub with the fuel Woman picked up yesterday when She was out.

Look to be short a couple of bags of fertilizer for the rest of the lawn so probably a trip down to Menards today for that and sunflower and safflower seeds for the birds.

Get mowing done down here around the house after I get back.

Then get rest of fertilizer spread.

Trash pick up delayed by a day due to the holiday, so will need to get the garbage taken up at some point later today.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday ... (y)
