Good morning!!!!

I drilled three holes with my drill press on the inside and tried to cut most of it with the bandsaw on the outside. Still took me a couple of days/hours to make. One of the harder projects I have tried.
Now that would have been an interesting YouTube in fast motion.

Good afternoon! We are not cooling off today currently 108˚And it feels like a furnace outside.

The church auto coffee maker water line broke and there were 2" of water inside. Hadn't rained in 7 weeks and flood damage. Good thing it was discovered yesterday so there was no interruption in services.

I'm getting excited about the possibility of a non - 100˚ day on Tuesday, we will see, about half of the weather stations say 99˚ half say 101˚. However the 10 day forecast after that show over 100˚ each day.🔥 We may move up to the 3rd or 4th hottest summers since they started keeping records in the 1890s.

The garden is toast as soon as the cantelopes ripen they split and are eaten, by I think squirrels. The watermelons pop when they get the size of a baseball. As soon as we get just some 90˚ days I'm going to rip everything out, till it and prepare it for fall planting.

Good worship this morning, very good lesson. I had song leading. Last weekend for our usual lunch place to be still closed, so went to the pizza place we had breakfast at yesterday. Good food there also. We had 13 or 14 people there.
Warming up today, going to get hot this week. Need to get trash and recycle out tonight when it cools off. Hope a nap soon.
Good Afternoon BEF,
I see a lot of parishes closing unfortunately, and some parishes consolidating ! Our parish is fairly strong with our group of parishioners, and we have enough money in trusts to keep us
running smoothly ! It is certainly sad to see this happening ! We have a wonderful priest, and thats one of the reasons I go as often as I can !

All have a blessed day !

69°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 96° here today. Current forecast (guess) shows high temps until next Sunday. Hopefully, our last heatwave of the year. Sure glad I work in an air conditioned building now.

Finally got the Starlink equipment temporarily set up this morning. It's sitting on the provided X-frame on the walkway through the zen rock garden behind the house. Easy to get set up and running. First speed test done while it was still gathering data was 84Mbps. By comparison, HughesNet was giving us a whopping 200Kbps the night before. Not going to miss that at all. Wife came back from running some errands, connected to it, and just said, "Wow." Still need to get a pipe adapter to mount it on the HughesNet pole on the roof, and get the cable run inside through the wall. That will probably wait until next weekend, when it's not near 100° outside.

Good evening, gents.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low was a balmy 11C and it's presently 18.2C, partly cloudy with a steady breeze. You'd think it was Spring but I'm sure that Winter isn't done with us yet.

What with the Parish AGM after the Church service yesterday I wasn't able to return home 'til after 1230.

Nothing 'pressing' on for me today and that's just fine with me. Heck, there's nothing really 'on' for the rest of the week until Saturday with a meeting over at Ross. I'm pretty sure that the bakery that makes the Eccles Cakes has shut down for the Winter.

That's about it, take care all.

only in southern CA can you get a 5.1 earthquake in the middle of a hurricane :p We are soaked. Creeks are full. Fields have standing water... too wet to mow for awhile. The good news is it is supposed to stop in about 12 hours

I miss bell peppers.

they give me agita. Sometimes for multiple days.

Hot peppers? I can eat them all day. Banana, Arbol, Serrano, cayenne, habanero, whatever. No problemo.

Bell peppers hate me.

🫤
I'm the same way, but I've had to tone it down now on hot peppers....but I had about a cup or more of serrano salsa today and it was great.

Two biopsy cut off face numerous freeze offs. Second doctor did usual things some blood work already done shows kidney damage and para thyroid issues

Good evening
Prayers from your Texas friend.

108˚ today.

Fun Facts.

This is our 6th hottest Summer (days 100˚ or higher) since 1893 with 44 days so far.

The coolest years where there were NO days of 100˚ or higher were the years of:
2021
2007
1987
1979
1975
1973
1968
1926
1919
1908
1907
1906
1905
1904
1897

The hottest year with 74 days of 100˚ or higher was:
2011

2nd place with 69 days
1929

3rd place with 65 days
1923

4th place with 55 days
2009

5th place with 53 days
2022

6th place this year with 44 so far, but 100+ predicted at least 8 more days, maybe more. There is a good chance we will move up to 4th place this year.

Ugh hot, come on Tuesday rains, but not looking great for Tuesday this far north right now.

Batten the hatches....Looks like Hilary is giving good rains to the desert too. And I heard a 5.1 earthquake hit there too...things that make you go hum.

After church, I went to the box store 37 miles away, to buy some pvc fittings for the broken waterline. Son and I had dug a little on Saturday, but dug some more today, at 3-6 pm, while it was only 109 outside. We had a bit of shade, and hot breeze, not full shade. Poured hot water on our T shirts to take advantage of evaporative cooling. We have Arizona "dry" heat right now, with the humidity getting down to 24% Cut the pipe, used my 12v bilge pump, said a prayer, put in a newish 3/4" valve with Oatey pipe dope, said another prayer, used a sliding pvc repair part, and it is done. Whatever you do, NEVER use the compression style repairs. They don't last. My pipe is in a bind, because of a bend where it goes around an oak tree and aligns with the water supply meter. I used hot blue, glue, that can work while the water is running. It has been about 4 hours now, and no drips....more prayers. I will wait to cover it until I'm certain it is going to hold.

School night. Big day tomorrow. Over 66,000 kids show up for school tomorrow. Many, their first day of college. We don't have Frosh in our building usually. We get them their sophomore - senior years.

Good Morning
71 with a high in the low 80’s and blue sky.
Another great day.

Yesterday, grandson and I ran the tractor with a grapple to move brush and logs from his dads tree work. He took down some gnarly, mostly dead trees.

After that, I continued looking for things damaged by lightning. First hint was when the standby generator didn’t send me a text to tell me it was exercising. Took a look at it, controller screen was blank, and control fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse, it popped again like a flashbulb.
Did some cursory looking and testing, it appears that it’s just the control. I ordered a new one on line for a bit under $500 including shipping. Started a list of all the damaged stuff and the cost of repairs, sent an email to insurance agent to see what my coverage and deductible is, I’ve spent over $2,000 at this point, and that’s not considering my time, I haven’t used any outside contractors (unless you count the fire company).

Today I want to go over the RC club and try out the P51 I converted to electric power and socialize a bit. Wife is already off to Farmers Market, she was at a different one yesterday. So far she is very pleased with the Transit Connect.
I do need to put the 3pt mower on the tractor and mow inside the fenced pastures, it a bit too tight for the 16 foot Progressive, although it’s probably not any faster than the Lazer, even with a 30” wider cut, and I still run the Lazer around the perimeter of each pasture, but it’s more comfortable and has AC and a stereo.
Popgadget, when my home in Texas got struck around 2001, I had Snake Farm insurance. They made me hire a licensed electrician, and turn in a report of all things messed up, to get reimbursement.
Hope you get yours situated w/o too many headaches.

Best,
Kyle
