So, I have to invoke some grandparent gloat......

The son came over this morning to wish us a happy anniversary and to show us our GS's state testing results....
Our GS scored the highest in the state!
Out of a possible score of 490 in math, he got 489 ---missed one problem.
For his Language arts.... the same score!

He's only 10 y/o.....
Now to keep him on the academic fast track......

76F and sunny @ 14:30, heading up to around 77F for the day's high.

Got meds doled out first thing yesterday, then got hopper and both tube feeders refilled, also suet feeder.

Spent a considerable amount of time removing debris that had gotten wound around the shaft of the battery-operated string trimmer behind the spool housing. Now spinning freely.

Trimmed down the weeds in front of the hydrangeas, day lilies, and hosta next to the garage.

Woman ran out to Jimmy John's for sandwiches, I ate half of mine for lunch and then the rest for dinner.

Mixed up 2 gallons of glyphosate and refilled 2 gallon sprayer.

Woman and I worked on cleaning up the garage which was a mess. Hauled a couple bags of trash from that up to the can at the road using the Cub and the dump cart, dropped some cardboard off up at the shop.

She got another couple of gallon cans of old latex paint dumped out to dry.

She also repotted Her Amaryllis and consolidated a couple of totes that had a little bit of soil in them.

Closed up 4 burrow entrances over on the west side of the house using 4 buckets of used cat litter. Deployed 2 "Giant Destroyer" smoke bombs before I sealed the holes. Was short a fuse, had to use Mapp Gas torch to light one off. Need to inspect burrow entrances to see if they are still sealed up.

Cleared the rolls of fencing from out in front of the stump bucket so I can put that on the Kubota in anticipation of doing some transplanting.

Watched a movie on Prime "Facing Monsters" about Australian surfer Kerby Brown. Pretty wild stuff.

Clear night last night so I headed outside a little after midnight and watched the sky, saw a few shooting stars. Temps were very cool but it was quite pleasant.

Woman has been out weeding this morning and dusting plants in the garden with Bug-B-Gone. Apparently the striped cucumber beetles are still around.

No idea what all on the agenda for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday ... (y)

RS, I rarely wear gloves and think I've gotten poison ivy from doing just what you did. Most often I have problems with not enough coming out,
not too much, but of course, if you snag...

remarkably long but successful day upgrading rv.
Spent/wasted almost two hours trying to get rv on lift, finally gave up.
A four poster would have worked, two poster doesn't due to entrance steps and
plumbing piping hanging down on both sides. Then they brought out two air jacks and two floor jacks,
lots of lumber, and we got the job done. Unlikely to pass an OSHA inspector but these guys work on heavy equipment every day.

without being able to lift the rv very far up, it was crawl on the floor work.
Would have been much, much easier up on a lift.
My extra sharp drills worked perfectly, pilot, plus medium plus final size.
They tried to skip the middle size and sure enough the final size kept getting stuck,
biting on too much metal.

pleasant surprise was finding out rv already had a small steering stabilizer, which we discovered installing the new front
sumo jounce stops.

after two hours and accomplishing nothing, must admit I was looking at that sign more often.... :)
five hours later on a two hour job, we were done. If that pic bothers anyone, please PM me and I'll be glad to take it down.

rode better on way home, a little faster steering response and less nose bob. Success.
time for a Sat night glass of wine, maybe a cold beer. Just one, avoid drinking alone. Most of my wine goes in the
saucepan.

Thomas, when's a good time to see leaves up your way? We are talking about a trip up to at least RI in september, would like to swing up to at least southern Maine or NH area.
Leaf peepers plan on 2-3 week of October,,,beware of the price gouging if planning to spend the night.

They will get stuffed, then we will get stuffed.
I miss bell peppers.

they give me agita. Sometimes for multiple days.

Hot peppers? I can eat them all day. Banana, Arbol, Serrano, cayenne, habanero, whatever. No problemo.

Bell peppers hate me.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low (actually early morning) of 3.4C and it's presently 12.6C, sunny and calm. Yesterday's High briefly topped 20C!

I'm off to Church in about 20 minutes and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
