Dealers Not Accepting Some Brands on Trade

Unfortunately, the new prices are too much for me, but I'm still shocked compared to the other Kubota dealers I've called where it seemed like I need to know a secret handshake or something to get them to even talk about what they have for sale.
And that is where the small dealership selling "other brands" has an advantage. When I used to talk to my Yanmar dealer I was talking to the owner, boss, chief mechanic, parts guy, and floor sweeper all in one guy. Whatever I wanted, he knew about it and could make it happen.

Once a brand becomes popular and the owner ino longer accessible, you get the whatever.
Important thing to keep in mind is that neither style of dealer interaction tells us anything at all about the quality of the tractor they are selling.

The days of gate keeping are over and some dont realize it and some are angry. I can have a capable tractor and start doing real farm work without going 70K in debt? OK
Its evening the playing fied and it makes people crazy. Back in the day if you wanted to learn to weld you need to spend 5k on a welder, so sorry. HAHA today you can go to harbor freight buy a $800 mig welder an lay beads better than the yahoos with their 7k miller or lincoln.
That is because the newer ones are inverter technology and the old ones aren't.

Yep and it opens the door to many who wanted to learn but could not afford it. That infuriates some people and I think its freaking hilarious.

Well, twinkle toes, I’ve been around here about 10 years longer than you and Ive seen threads like this before. Most of the comments in them are about the same as the ones here.

That's fun for you, now please tell me where I was wrong. Please let me know what part of my argument, that again I pulled out of my arse, is any different from the one you'd made prior. How is your argument any more valid than mine?

It's not. Your idea that people only purchase these 'lower' brands because they can't afford a Deere or Kubota is, at best, juvenile. Just as juvenile as suggesting your purchases and lifestyle are an image projected by you to others.

Hint, I don't think it's the case, it's just a means of pointing out to you how absurd you're being. If you're unable to see that, it's not on me; I've broken this down Barney style, I can't explain it any clearer.

I sold my Hyper Therm plasma cutter as well as my Lincoln Weld Pak TIG welder a couple weeks ago and went and purchased a HF 65 amp plasma cutter (that comes with the plasma table interface) as well as the Vulcan Multi Process (TIG-MIG and Stick) welder and put a couple grand in my pocket from the sale of the 2 existing (and sold) machines plus I have someone that wants to buy (firm) my Hobart Handler MIG welder so I came out ahead and got new machines. I kept my ESAB pulsed MIG because it produces a TIG appearing weld and it's a nice machine to boot.

I had no issue selling them either. The Lincoln's are over priced as well as the Hyper Therm units and the guy wanted 'American Made' so I obliged and I'm putting money in the bank and upgrading technology as well.

I will say the Vulcan with it's pre selects is a dam nice machine and so is the 65 amp Titanium plasma cutter and to boot. the consumables for the Titanium are a heck of a lot cheaper than the Hyper Therm consumables are. The Titanium won't do the HT fine cut but I never used that anyway. The cutting kerf on the Titanium with the supplied tips is just as narrow as the HT was, plus the torch fit right into the torch holder on the plasma table, easy peasy. I did have to make up the interface cable for the table however.

Both the Lincoln Weld Pak and Hyper Therm are over 10 years old as well. I do take care of my machines so both looked new.

Had a dog named Princess. Great dog loved her. She just up and dropped dead a few months ago. Now I have another dog named Pumpkin shes a good dog too but I miss goofy Princess.

Never had a Princess, but I had a Duke, and that fellow was a mommas boy through and through, lol. I hope Pumpkin is around for many years, I'm sorry about your Princess.

I could have paid cash for a new Kubota, like I paid cash for a new 60x40 shop and tractor. However, after two years of exhaustive research I settled on a Branson 4820 for less than a 4701, with a lot more options and capacity.
Same reason I built with Graber Post and not Morton.

I don't know how you're able to deal with all that abject poverty.

And I could do it all again in cash, twice again, this year. Still no desire to buy a JD or Kubota. But I can say, it is great that people who cannot spend $50k on a utility tractor, can buy one for a fraction do their own work. I'd take the Branson or TYM for the simplicity of the power plant alone.
