So my Ford 3000 has a Simms inline injection pump. They have their own oil reservoir. Every time I replace the oil and remove the side cover that has the breather filter in it, I have to keep fiddling with it to get it to quit having a drip of oil always coming out of it. The rubber gasket isn't damaged, but want to get a new one.
My model only has one bolt in the center of the cover. I see a lot of other Simms pumps and they went to two bolts which would be way better.

Anyway, I've checked a bunch of antique tractor parts places like Steiner and YT and no one shows a listing for this gasket.

Any idea where I can get one? Would a New Holland dealer still be able to get these? I have none around here.

If you can't find any, you can always buy a big O-ring that will fit in the groove, cut the required length and glue it with super glue.

Either that or how about putting a thin layer of Permatex Ultra Blue RTV gasket maker on it??

The cover only has to come off to clean the vent filter, which I have never seen it dirty or gummed up.

The oil has it's own drain, check and fill plugs.

That would work well too. A little bit harder to clean in case it needs to come apart, but it'll probably be a long time before you have to touch it.

Thanks for the second opinion. I'll try and call some New Holland dealers but if I can't find a gasket, I'll try a tiny bit of RTV on it.
I hate leaks and drips.

I did a quick search and found some seals kits, mostly here in Europe.

I've used plenty of RTV for similar situations in the past. The only con really is the clean up in case it needs to come apart again.

Yes, and making sure nothing goes into the pump while trying to clean it off. That's the bad part.

Here's what I was looking for. What does that mean "No longer serviced"?
No longer available?

I called a New Holland dealer but he said he was swamped so will look and call me back.

No longer available would be my guess. I forgot what it was I was working on that needed a special O-ring. Special in that it was only available overseas. It was a typical O-ring but was a square cross section. I bought an O-ring Kit and made my own. You can get kits in various shape and size stock then just make your own. You can use Super Glue to join the ends once you determine the length. When you search for it, use "O-ring cord stock".

McMaster-Carr sells it by the foot.

The transmission lift cover is like that. Has all kinds of o-rings and I ordered a re-seal kit from Steiner, but some people say only the original Ford ones seal? Guess I'll find out next time I service internal hydraulic filter. Apparently they are all more of an "x" ring or something like that?

You were right Tinhack...no longer available. I had Don at Smith's Farm Equipment, a New Holland dealer, try his best.
Luckily mine is not damaged, I just have to play around and re-adjust a few times to get it where it doesn't leave a drip down the side of the block overnight.

But he did mention the same thing you did.....the kit to make your own and glue together.
He isn't a fan of RTV gasket maker in applications that involve fuel.

I'll have to check if Anglo Agri-Parts in the UK where I just had my fuel filters sent from can get any.

Any fuel shop will have a 3 cyl SIMMS side cover gasket.!!

I don't have any fuel pump shops around me, But if I ever need pump work, I will be sure to contact you pumpguy

I did ask Anglo in the UK also, and they don't have them either.

Luckily mines not trashed.....I just have to fiddle with it a few times to get it to stop leaving a drip overnight.

What I find strange is, u get a drip over night..
The oil level should not b that high.. it’s simply “splash oil” up there..
If all else fails, take the gasket/oring out of the groove and turn it over, that should give u a clean sealing surface to tighten the cover to..
BTW.. there are several fuel shops in Canada.. & as long as you have the p#, u should have no problem tracking 1 down.. at least a fuel shop doesn’t have an excuse.. lol
