Renewable to me is the source, not the chain.
Some types of "Natural" gases are renewable.
Some types of "Natural" gases are renewable.
Renewable in this sense, has come to mean that as the earth rotates it creates a time period of darkness and a time period of daylight. So Solar power is new every morning, renewable! (inexhaustible)..People keep saying solar is renewable ?
Is everything used to build the panels and inverters renewable ?
I have no idea, just curious
Hopefully not within the timeframe of our species on planet earth. The sun isn't renewable. it is finite.
It's like toilet paper, it's renewable if you take the time to put every item properly in the recycle bin.People keep saying solar is renewable ?

Marcellus Shale and or Utica Shale gasWonder if the removal and recycling costs of solar panels is factored into the budgets for them if/when the government subsidizes them with taxpayer money?
Or is the cost of solar only budgeting land confiscation/purchase and installation of all the solar equipment imported from China?
At least a coal fired power plant could be repurposed for natural gas.

Firewood is also a renewable, as there are natural regrowth cylces of trees.

As with most manufactured products, they would be considered consumables.
For example, the first inverter I owned had a projected lifespan of 10 years (the warranty period). But failed at year 21.
First charge controller failed at 33 years.
Solar panels were replaced at year 38.
I have not had to replace the sun as a source of energy. But when it is needing replacement, I think that all bets are off for all of us. LOL!!![]()
Not seeing your link. Or is that the purpose, there is no land "confiscated"?Here's a link to land that's been confiscated for solar installations. It's disturbing.

The steam does not hurt the atmosphere and it does not dump snow on anyone in the winter it disipates pretty quickly , I worked in the petrochemical industry for 38 yrs , I would rather see a little steam disipate in the atmosphere rather than seeing acres and acres of solar power panelsViews: Natural gas power plant next door VS solar farm...

Don't forget, the NG plant isn't running in that picture. When it runs, there's a continuous plume of steam to muck up the horizon that's visible for 20 miles.
Also, it dumps snow on anyone downwind in the winter. Thanks neighbor.![]()
May I suggest locally reported weather news on the steam/snow events. The steam does not hurt the atmosphere and it does not dump snow on anyone in the winter it disipates pretty quickly , I worked in the petrochemical industry for 38 yrs , I would rather see a little steam disipate in the atmosphere rather than seeing acres and acres of solar power panels
I have worked in the power plants and the steam is coming from the cooling towers and they do not cause snow..I never seen us not have snow on the ground in the plant's and big a big snow storm over the fence in the local communities...That is B.S. , Steam from a cooling tower or any where else during cold weather does not cause snow fall else where...that is ludicrous..
The steam does not stay visible in the atmosphere for 20 miles..not hardly.

Visible from 20 miles away. I can see it 50 miles away with a pair of binoculars but it is not leaving a 20 mile long trail like you are saying.Visible from 20 miles away. And further.
