Today was a good day. Got all the brambles, wild cherry trees (loaded with black knot) and wild raspberry canes cleaned out. Also the stump from the big tree that came down 3/4 years ago has rotted to the point of self destruction.
Also turned the compost pile. This pile is NOT for veggies or any other food items. This is only for top dressing the grass.
Dump & town run tomorrow. Will get 5 lbs of grass seed too. They only want $5.oo/lb for the seed + 13% tax.
I will check tomorrow to see if the seed is made of gold.

can anyone identify this tractor?
Looks like an old Farmall but the emblem seems odd

This is like Don with his nice a/c cab Kubota.
I'll be at this campground not too far North of here later next week, just curious
Looks like a Farmall H, with miss matched tires on the rear.

Went down in the meadow to mow and just got back for dinner. Wife told me to cover plants because of freeze warning. Got the mower stuck in mud hiding in the tall grass so had to hike back to get the tractor. This tree is the largest tree we have being 4 ft diameter or thereabout and very tall. Not sure what kind it is.

Good day.... got about 10 of the 14 tons of the first pile spread. Did the "ins and outs" around the new driveway planters, and about 3' in front of them down the driveway length.
Also got the "water trap" gulley filled in across the front of the drive. (This was where the idiot neighbor dug out a 6" drop with the bulldozer). A T-storm was approaching, so called it for the day.

Got the tractor fueled up and put away. Just as I lowered the garage door, the rain started spitting. Light rain for about an hour now. The evening news showed a frontal line moving across the area, triggering more storms for the next few hours.

Jay, thank you! We definitely have put a bit of effort over the last few years making our oasis. Dona really has a green thumb and her talent of propagating new plants is plain amazing to me.
She now has 25 Siberian Elms and 25 Bulgarian Black Pines growing from seeds. Not including all the perennials starting from seed.
Takes a season or two before they can get planted, but knowing that they have been nurtured from seed just makes it that much more special to us.

Drew, yes everything gets put on the drip irrigation system. I have laid (buried) over 1000' of main distribution lines. I'm sure there is about the same amount of plant feeder lines. Ground cover plants get a multi-point dripper... almost like a sprayer, but just puts out streams around a foot + in distance in a half circle.

No way that I / we could water everything with a hose. Always swapping out drippers to larger flow ones every season or two. As the trees or shrubs get bigger, they get bigger drippers.

Plus, we use mostly 'drought tolerant' or 'resistant' plants. Over the last 30 years of trial and error, we have learned from "mistakes".

I see all as the last three letters. If the Kubota did have an AC cab I would not be training the new person to work the hot Summer.

Another mass shooting.... this one in our state of NM....
targeted innocent people just driving by or standing in their yard. A real shame. An 18 y/o troubled kid was the shooter. 3 deaths and nine others injured, including 2 LEOs.

Kilroy any update on pup in school?
Harry is responding to clicker training, he has stopped jumping up on the trainer, he is not howling the night away, and is working on stay/down/“leave it”. And tail is wagging while doing so!

Thank you for asking! We get two email updates during the week (next should be tomorrow) and pics/video on Saturday.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High 96F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Maybe a bit of cooling by the middle of next week, but until then we'll be in the 90s.

Slotting you in would mean rescheduling someone else, and then they'd have TWO irate customers instead of just one. Sounds like they probably reschedule people regularly, though, so maybe they're used to upsetting their customers and have stopped caring.

A couple weeks ago one of the contractor's helpers went to use an outdoor duplex outlet and the plastic face fell off of it. They gave me a new outlet, but it was only yesterday that I finally got around tuit. Had a heck of a time trying to find the right circuit breaker, and ended up using a label maker to re-label all of the breakers because I couldn't read most of the chicken scratches that were on there. Then I couldn't find the outlet the contractor left me, but dug one out of the junk box instead.

For some reason I still can't understand, the new LED stadium light isn't going all the way out when turned off. I tried resetting the low limit on the smart switch that controls it, and even replaced the smart switch, but still no joy. Fooled around with it for far too long and gave up. Today I'll move a known good smart switch from another location to see if it works any better.

The parts to fix the tractor were supposed to be in yesterday but I got no call, so I'll have to chase that down today, too. And Amazon says three different orders should arrive today. We'll see.

Happy Hump Day, folks!
Well, they lost a customer and any referrals we would have made. Good to have alternate sources.
