i used to have to remove birds nests from the light fixtures on my front porch, after a few years of removal they stopped trying. And swallows made a nest one year attaching mud to the side of the porch beam.

Good morning! Low was 44°, heading to near 80°. The weather guessers are still predicting heavy rains starting tomorrow and through the weekend..... we'll see....

Did get a sprinkle overnight, but not enough to register in the gauge.

The 3 planters are made and 2 are set in place / filled with dirt. The fruit trees and associated small plants will be in shortly....

The third planter is for the strawberry patch.... that may get set and filled today, but more than likely, tomorrow.
I didn't plan on leaving the pile of gravel for so long....

I also didn't plan that I would block my access with said gravel, to use the tractor to dump the dirt over the back fence to fill the planter.....

Might get some seat time moving the gravel......

Drew, RV trip and a cruise.... then another RV trip... sounds like a great plan! Hope the back feels better.

Mark, glad that you're recovering. Didn't sound like any fun at all!

Kilroy, sounds like a good philosophy..... sometimes better to take a back seat than to stir the pot....
We also try to fly low, but observe carefully....
Hope you can get a gravel delivery as promised.....

Wifey is giving me the "hurry up" eye..... better get moving......

Everyone have a great day!

"microwave has it all over boiling water."

HERESY!!!

I'll have to try it.(y)

Chris
We microwave our chili/lime ear corn 3 minutes. Similar to this but If you don't have a paper bag just cover with a wet paper towel in the microwave chucked or unchucked. Notice it does not need any artery clogging high calorie fatty butter. The lime adds a salty taste.

Warmer today 75 nice bright sun no rain in FC

Fortunately no druggie house in our neighborhood. Antagonizing them is not worth it. You have more to loose

Worked some on planting flowers for wife and got them watered in making her happy

Also cut out a piece of old roof panel and made flashing for the beam from yesterday to protect it from rain. Being exposed to rain is what had weakened it and caused it to sag. Next plan to add a sister beam on the back side. Will add some cleats to it to allow the beam to rest on while screwing it in. And finally added support under the middle and center pole.

Will mow another area and if time more oil change and service work on Kubotas

66°F and .38 inches rain.
Good time at HH yesterday 9 attendees. Neighbor friend who sold his Kubota last year gave me a PTO shaft he had that was too short for his chipper. I was surprised to find it was brand new still in the box. 70cm which I believe I can find a use.

Something different this morning. Off to a neighbor’s across the road for coffee and a pastry. Richard’s wife passed a few months back. He had been her caregiver her last few years. While we had never really been close we’ve probably been to a handful of gathering and would often stop and chat on the road. We did attend wife’s funeral. He is reaching out in attempt to regain some normalcy.

After that and likely a run to PO my pressure washing awaits.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

That’s good he is reaching out.
I worry about my oldest brother, who’s wife died after a long battle with MS. He sits in house on computer, and has been having health issues. He was in ER again recently, doesn’t say why.

I haven’t done a thing today, except hold a cat on my lap.
My wife on other hand, still walked on treadmill with a hurting leg.

Mark- My + thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

Drew- I hope that all your travel plans go as planned, and will be sharing your adventures here.

David- Your spread is amazing. Thanks for sharing your pics. I am happy to read that your neighbor is reaching out and happier that you and Sophie accepted.

Wagtail- I am happy to read that the horses get along.

rswyan- I really enjoy those hairy little fish on pizza. Our dog loves the oil mixed into his food. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Kilroy- I am sorry to read about your neighbors; and even sadder to read about your gravel “delivery” challenges.

Ron- I’ve been feeding the birds here for ~45 years and I have never seen a Pileated woodpecker at our feeders. Nice picture; thanks for sharing.

It was a breezy overcast 51ºF for this morning's low temperature. The high level clouds have thinned, but the smoke remains and it has been a filtered sunny day so far with 23mph gusts recorded. It is currently 71ºF and this afternoon's high is predicted to be in the mid70ºF's; not too tough to handle.

It was a productive morning I found an electrician through "Craig's List" who will change the 60A fuses probably this coming Saturday morning. The rider mower fired right up and I mowed the vegetation in front of the house and set a walking path "complex" in the lower field. I really do not care that from above it looks like someone extremely impaired mowed the lower field.

Not as exciting as Ron's Pileated Woodpecker. A newly arrived Catbird just about to enter the avian fray around the suet cage
