Good morning!!!!

I built this. It was a kit. By the time I was done I had all kinds of upgrades and stuff hanging off it and still could carry ~ + 5#'s with 9.5" props for about 5 minutes. With the 9.5" props it measured 32" prop tip to prop tip
Someone gave me a large (580mm) Tarot (6 arms) Drone a few days ago. It had a Pixhawk controller and all the electronics except the motors and speed controllers. Also included a 10 channel RC and 2 receivers. (never used) I can use some of it but I won't bother finishing the drone as it would cost another $500 for the bits and batteries. I am more than satisfied with my Mavic. I built a few autonomous quads a while back and they went extremely well. I practiced dropping "bombs" on Saturday.

Kil, the lever on pto for the old MF has a resistance built in that is has to move over to engage. I think it is a ball with a spring and indents it moves over. If the spring loses the spring action it will not hold position unless you tie it off in position. Yours may be similar
Yeah, there is no detent sensation, just some spring tension as the rod is pulled upward. Whatever used to keep the rod engaged in the UP position is not participating any longer. And I really want to have it be one-handed operation, so I am trying to avoid ties, bungees, sleeves, Vise-Grips, or other things that can be dropped in motion or require two hands to manipulate, or both.

65F and partly cloudy @ 21:30, really quite pleasant out. High hit 79.5F here today. Heading down to around 54F overnight.

Noticed Rib Man was down at the corner on the way out. Wasn't long after that I got a text from The Woman about it (She had been out earlier)

Told Her She should probably run down and pick up a slab if She wanted some ... ;)

Refilled mealworm feeder with 15 worms on the way out as well. It was empty.

Trip to Discount Tire successful, two new tires on the front ... (y)

Rear tires just below 5/32nds ... so still legal. Probably run those until the fall since the vehicle isn't seeing many miles these days and then stick a couple of new ones on the back as well.

Checked mealworm feeder on the way back in, of the 15 worms I had put in it only 8 remained ... (y)

They are quick learners ... ;)

Slab of ribs were warming in the oven when I got back. Had 3 of those along with some potato salad.

Mr. and Mrs. Mallard out at the feeder noodling away as I was preparing my plate:

Just finished cleaning the trash out of the cab of the van, probably give a good vacuuming tomorrow and wash down the floor.

After dinner went over and got the Cub and dump cart, got three of the trunk protectors put on: the Red Maple, the Japanese Flowering Cherry, and the Tulip Tree:

IMG_2580 copy.jpg

After that I headed over to the east peach tree and worked some 12-12-12 into the soil, did a little trimming, and then re-caged it with a larger cage and staked it.

Checked Nest Box No. 2, has a House Wren nest in it. There was a Wren in it (head down, tail up), not sure if was alive or not. Will recheck that one tomorrow.

Went up and did a little weeding around the base of the Tulip tree.

Checked Nest Box No. 4, has a nest in it (probably Bluebird and/or House Sparrow), may be from last year. Will require further observation to determine whether anyone is occupying it currently.

Woman's Hibiscus is enjoying being outside these last couple of days:

She texted me while She was weeding out back to report the first Iris bloom of the year:

Looks to be plenty more to come.

Peonies looking good as well ... (y)

Will probably start mulching that area over the next several days.

Time to go have a couple more ribs I think ... ;)

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Good early (Sunday) arvo. Overnight Low was 0.4C and it's warmed up to 18C! It's sunny with a gentle breeze. I'm back from Church and the rest of the day is His.

Gave myself a haircut/beard trim yesterday... which probably resulted in the near freezing temperature this morning. Fortunately I have a felt (JD green, of course) beanie to wear for just such an occasion. Quick N.A. question: what do you call a beanie? (watch-cap? touque?)

Oh, and I've just received a text message from the "Mad Horse Woman". She's bought another horse, it's arriving tomorrow and has asked if she can put it in Paddock #2 so that it can become 'acquainted' with her first horse. To be fair, she'd noticed a problem with her first horse and had his back x-rayed = yep, he's un-rideable, so this is the reason for the second horse.

Mind you, You really should have at least two horses in a paddock as they're herd animals plus they can sleep better (in turns) once they've 'paired up'.

That's about it, take care all.

Wagtail, we had to take a free unridable horse once to keep a young Tbred company. The Free horse turned out to be a terrible spook who kept the youngster awake most of the nights telling him lions tigers and bears were about...lol. As luck would have it that stupid horse lived about 20 yrs here keeping everybody company and on their toes.

If it is black, and is sufficiently long to allow for the de rigeur double-fold, it is a ”watch cap”. if it is a different color, it is a knit cap. If it is too short to do more than a nominal single fold, it is a beanie. If it is a felt skullcap of sufficient size to reach to your forehead and to where your ears meat your head, it is also a beanie. If it is of felt or cloth, of sufficient size to reach your forehead and to where your ears meet your head and has a propeller on top, it is a ”Spanky”. If it is of felt or cloth, and is smaller than a teacup saucer, it is a yarmulke. If it knit and has a bobble on top, it is a ski cap. If it is knit and triangular (in profile) with a tassel, it is a toque.

at least it is in our house 😁
