If I remember to turn mics off between use, batteries will last about a month.
I need to keep better track of when I change them.
Mr. Sharpie is your friend 😁👍

Yes the Premier was expected, although he (due to distance) was a good 3/4 hours late.

Just to clarify, the Premier is the leader of the State Government in power. (Federally, he/she is called the Prime Minister under the 'Westminster' style of government.) Each State has an apolitical appointed Governor with the Federal governor, also being apolitical, being the Governor General. He/she, in each case, is the 'head of State' and representative of the "Crown" (now King Charles III), whether for that State or for the country. No law becomes legal until signed by the Governor (respective State) or the Governor General (Federal)... They have the 'last say' as to whether the Bill becomes law or not. They're not a 'rubber stamp' and they can send a bill back to Parliament or the Supreme Court for review/opinion/'clarification' before signing as part of the "checks & balances" of this system.

To try to put it into perspective, think of the "Crown" as your US "Constitution". Please understand that that is simplifying it, but it works the same. (A legal example would be your "The People Vs. 'John Smith'" and our "The Crown Vs. 'John Smith'")

Our new Priest is settling quite well and, I must say, is, so far, a bit of a 'firebrand' according to his first sermon. I like him... he has to do a wee bit of a balancing act between the 'traditionalists' and 'evangelicals' whilst remaining in the Anglican/Episcopal form. it's a more 'modern world', eh?

I like him.
Hmmm.. In Canada it has been Regina vs John Smith, so I wonder what it will change to now that we have a King instead of a Queen? And will they change the coins?

BTW I learned to my surprise on TV last night that the monarchy costs each Brit only $1.67, American!😯

Good morning! Low of 39°, heading up to 76°, sunny with light breezes at 5-15 mph. The chances for a few sprinkles and a possible thunderstorm increase to 50% tomorrow. We could surely use some precip.

I think the garden tractor battery finally gave up the smoke..... it was slowly discharging over a month last season. Put it on charge yesterday, no juice after 8 hours... It's 7 years old, so probably time to replace anyway.

Today's agenda is to continue with the planters, getting them leveled and secured. And, have to fill them too....
My guess is that it's going to take longer than I think it should.....

Everyone have a great day!

65° and .07 inches rain

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii

Plan is to spend some quality time with pressure washer (just the electric one) this morning.

Later have to go to town. Need to get a Notary signature to undue a 20+ year old matter, POA on son’s 2002 Civic. In 2001 in hit a deer coming home from girl friends totally his recently acquired car. In a poorly thought out effort to save money he had cancelled collision insurance, hence still liable for loan. I order to get the Civic he needed co-signer. So Sophie has been on the Title and registration all these years. We didn’t even think of it after paid off. Guess we never thought he’d drive it over 20 years. Time has come to let that one go, signature needed.

In person Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

1.17" of rain recorded with the last rain event that ended early this morning. It was a cloudy 42ºF for this morning's low temperature. There were some early morning rain sprinkles as I drove down to the "Big City" for supplies, and then the surprise appearance of the sun and it has been a mostly sunny mix of sun and clouds this morning. It has been breezy with 18mph gusts. The current 52ºF is today's high temperature and I anticipate increasing clouds a high temperature in the upper50ºF's and rain beginning later this afternoon/evening.

It's that time of year when flowers are blooming most everywhere around here but not at JaysterAcres. Half of the trees here are just starting to exhibit bud swelling. It does look like the wildlife will have a decent blueberry season.

Not much on my agenda this afternoon other than grilling up some 🥩🥩. I might put up a few more bird feeder poles. From my photo records last year this week starts the beginning of the migratory birds returning.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 11:30AM here in Lompoc, CA. Considerable clouds this morning. Some decrease in clouds later in the day. High 59F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph.

Good to see the spring flowers all over the country, and the beautiful photos from across the nation.

Welcome new guys!

Way behind now, but it sounds like someone got a new mini-ex? Congrats!

Tonight I'll be following up on a new listing we checked out on Saturday, talking to a contractor about adding another 800 sq. ft. to the garage, either by lengthening it or building a new structure in the back yard. The home is older, built in '59, so it'll need some electrical and plumbing updates as well. Nice quarter acre lot, quiet neighborhood except for some home improvement projects going on. No rap music, in fact, no loud noises at all during our first visit. A few RVs parked out on the street, a few obvious rental properties with two foot high grass, but otherwise a very nice neighborhood. Walking distance (half mile) to groceries, restaurants, gas, and what turned out to be a pretty good second hand record store. Got out of there empty handed because I forgot my phone in the car, but I'll be back!

Years ago I picked up a Harbor Freight metal detector to find a lost tool, then put it away on a high shelf when it didn't help. Brought it along this trip and we took it out to a local beach to see what we could find. Tested it with a penny, which was only good to a few inches deep, and didn't get any other hits except when the loop touched the sand. But it was nice to get out and watch the waves and birds. Lunch was at Panda Express, and my buddy paid so it tasted extra good.

Back at home, it looks like the stucco man had trouble with the gate, and instead of unhooking the opener, just forced it open. It's been stuck that way over the weekend, and so far I've seen one car that went through, traveled down to the pump house, and then turned around and left. I've expressed my concern to the contractor for the security of the property, but so far he's been unresponsive. Just another mess to clean up once I get home tomorrow.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Well, I have keys, and a manual, and a stack of papers, and a payment book, I don’t get the mini-ex until mid-May due to prior travel and other commitments.

So, it is more like “getting” than “got”
😂🤣😂

Windy and colder and occasional light drizzle today. Not pleasant for much outside but managed to plant 12 Blue Carpet Phlox for wife and watered them in.
Doctor said that the shoulder is as good as it is going to get and at my age he would not want to risk making it worse with surgery. Have good mobility now after the PT but he said hammering with that hand should be avoided as well as any heavy lifting. Told him age is just number but he was not convinced somehow. Using the lefty more much as I hate it is the plan. Light weight exercises only for the right side.

Fortunately equipment operations can continue now with more importance than before

I recently invested in two Stiletto titanium hammers due to my carpal tunnel.

They take a bit of getting used to… I am Not there yet..

I never heard of these kind of hammers before and at ~$100(US) they are not cheap, but I should be looking into getting one for similar reasons. Which brings to mind a quote from a former client from many years past- "One does not age gracefully, nor well." (after she was stopped by city police for driving her motorized wheelchair unsafely in a rather busy street). And thanks for the laugh.:ROFLMAO:

Was able to use the DeWit hoe because it is nice and light and with 6 ft long handle and it works well being sharp made of hand forged steel from Holland.
