Drinking first cup of coffee. 36° with light fog this morning. Heading to 51° with rain in afternoon. .41" of rain yesterday evening. This month we got 3.43" of rain. 9.63" for the year. Spent way to much time cleaning up pond. Got some aches and pains this morning. Going to try and make today a conserve energy day.

After nitrate mining, I need to get some straw bales to re-line the run. I raked up some of the straw bits they had kicked out through the wire mesh and added some wood shavings to give at least a thin layer, but they need fresh.

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly)

53F, going to mid 60s. Harry needed to go out #1 at 2AM, it started to rain about 10 minutes after bringing him in.

Harry needed to go out #2 @4:30 AM, about ten minutes after rain had let up. So I am up way too early…

supposedly the rain will stop by 11:00 AM, whereas the forecast when we went to bed had torrential rains and possible hail until after 9PM. Now the sun is supposed to be out at noon.

if it does indeed dry up, I may attempt to complete the tiller transmission reassemble, but that will surely bring back the precipitation.

T-177 Hours until Harry goes to boot camp.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy blessed Sunday!

Randy(wag) glad good meeting went well. Was Premier expected?
Yes the Premier was expected, although he (due to distance) was a good 3/4 hours late.

Just to clarify, the Premier is the leader of the State Government in power. (Federally, he/she is called the Prime Minister under the 'Westminster' style of government.) Each State has an apolitical appointed Governor with the Federal governor, also being apolitical, being the Governor General. He/she, in each case, is the 'head of State' and representative of the "Crown" (now King Charles III), whether for that State or for the country. No law becomes legal until signed by the Governor (respective State) or the Governor General (Federal)... They have the 'last say' as to whether the Bill becomes law or not. They're not a 'rubber stamp' and they can send a bill back to Parliament or the Supreme Court for review/opinion/'clarification' before signing as part of the "checks & balances" of this system.

To try to put it into perspective, think of the "Crown" as your US "Constitution". Please understand that that is simplifying it, but it works the same. (A legal example would be your "The People Vs. 'John Smith'" and our "The Crown Vs. 'John Smith'")
Randy(wag) getting cold. How is new priest working out?
Our new Priest is settling quite well and, I must say, is, so far, a bit of a 'firebrand' according to his first sermon. I like him... he has to do a wee bit of a balancing act between the 'traditionalists' and 'evangelicals' whilst remaining in the Anglican/Episcopal form. it's a more 'modern world', eh?

I like him.

good morning all
2.68 inches on rain gauge and looks like another inch coming today

had fun at birthday party late yesterday but had to leave before dinner. So much noise in community meeting room my ears could not take it.
Gave the birthday girl a big hug and left. Since her husband has profound hearing loss, she and he knew all about my noise limitations. It actually was a good surprise;
she was expecting just family and about 50 people were there.

up too early, foggy out, not sure what today will bring. Definitely not an outdoor day.
I'm overdue for a long soak in the hot tub, so I know that's on the schedule for later.

speaking of e-muffins, I have something way more special this morning
Landlady, who is Swedish, brought over a plate of Swedish pancakes which I adore.
Very different than normal, thinner, denser, richer. Usually eaten with lingonberries.
I have some fruit preserves I can use. Need to heat it up in toaster oven, microwave would turn it to mush.
Swedish pancakes.
Frits, do the Danes make something similar?

Yes Danish pancakes are very similar. Made thin like the French crepes. Our kids loved them especially rolled up with Gooseberry jam inside
