It ok I'll read your posts for a laugh or wisdom.
Some folks are so important they can't let someone else be wrong.
insulting the American icon never goes well … Harley need their amazing loud sound to hide the sound of their shitty transmission grinding through the gears and the loud shlack when going in gear.

Not a very smart way to deal with the problem. In the US, your dad would be sued. It is illegal to set up a trap/obstacle that is intended to, or may, harm people.

Decisions made in anger can bite you in the butt.

Charge the kid with trespassing.
sued for accidentally dropping a used peace of timber on your own property ??

In my naive fantasy world a multituse trail system would be ideal with ATV, snowmobile, bike, and xc ski clubs working side by side to build and maintain trail systems. Would it ever work probably not but local established businesses aren't replacing ATV and snowmobile helmet racks for xc ski and bike racks in the foreseeable future. Nor do I feel all who enjoy a sport should lose privileges because of a few. It's a tricky situation of balancing tourist commerce, with common sense, safety, and noise pollution.
in quebec they have a very good trails system just like snowmobile trails in the winter … obviously they are strict on noise levels and you need a trail pass

If they are causing a problem talk to somebody about it. Every state has different laws but generally access to public roads is contingent on not having problems. They also generally have speed limits to follow, if that isn't happening contact the applicable law enforcement.

Results may vary depending on state.

Edit; Here are the laws for Missouri...
The financial responsibility is an important part of this. I always wonder about the people driving around having insurance. Of course they all have licenses, right?

it was not dropped accidentally and had nails driven through it to cause an accident. Yes, you will get sued. Maybe not in Canucklehead Canada but plenty of personal injury lawyers will take a case like that in the US. My assumption is your local prosecutor would bring assault charges and you will spend a lot of money and still might end up in jail.

BTW, before your get your knickers in a knot, I am a dual citizen. Lived in socialist Canada until 1995. I call myself a Canucklehead when I do something stupid.

Driving nails into a board to cause an accident and injure a person is stupid in a civilized country. It is a criminal act in some.

no it was accidentally dropped, no malicious intent, don’t believe it that’s for you to prove otherwise… but i know I know, in canada somebody break in your house and step on a lego that was accidentally forgotten of course and he can sue you I know … The concept is absurd.

"The old man found an old plank, like a 2x12, and drove at least a dozen eave trough nails into it. He then partially buried it in the loose soil were the kid turned onto their land."

Read the quote above from the original post. It was no accident.

Should you have an "accident" on your property, all your social media, emails etc will be reviewed if they want to come after you. Your posts so far on this are not going to play well in court.

Let's leave as "friends". You have your ideas and I have mine. We can agree to disagree.

I know what he stated... I understand what you are saying, I am fooling around but you don't have to incriminating yourself you can keep some discretion like pleading the 5ft or remain silent good lawyers do wonders. Id say straights up lie but that's illegals for use citizen not like cops or government officials.

There is also excuse like ''I have long covid my memory is not very good I do not recall these event''.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Harley with stock exhaust. Most around here have no mufflers, just straight pipes. And what's with blipping the throttle when sitting at a stop sign/light?
That's 'required' in the Harley world. Who'd want a Harley that sounds like a Honda?

Anyone ever here of a snowmobiler getting partially or fully decapitated trying to get across a fence line? I have, I wish no Ill will on a ungrateful hippy millennial driving a Prius down a two track, or a punk driving across someone's including my own property with a overly loud exhaust can. Imho and experience there's a way to learn from mistakes and setting up booby traps to teach someone a "lesson" isn't one of them.
