63F and partly cloudy @ 13:45, heading up to around 66F for the day's high.
Got hopper and two tube feeders refilled yesterday, also one suet feeder. Plus scattered some cracked corn for the ground feeders.
After that spent the rest of the day up in the shop working on the sheet metal repair to the saw base.
Overall, it went ok ... the end result isn't perfect ... but it turned out reasonably decent.
Probably should have started by welding at the opposite end, which would have given more purchase for the new section when it came time to heat and bend it:
Tacked:
Even so, the welds held when I started to heat and bend it:
Center in the opening deformed slightly when I bent it, eventually cleaned that up with a zip disc on the angle grinder:
Even managed to get some sanding done on it (sides and top) before I quit late last night:
I did discover some more silicone rubber on it which I hit with the McKanica remover. Will need to see if that got it all today and if not hit it again.
Then sand the bottom and wash it off.
Likely will not sand and repaint the inside.
After that I can start squirting and shoot it with some primer.
Worked some on the getting the plug put on the power cord before I quit for the night.
Amazon due in today (a day early) with the t-strip edging and double-sided laminate tape for the fence.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday ...
