Heading out for test drive to the woodlot, will report back later how well it works, or if I need to do a few more wraps on the front heat shield too. . .

My buddy sure likes the ecoboost turbo engine. He says his will easily outpull a boat compared to his V8 5.0L naturally aspirated. The torque will give you ability to merge better into traffic.
What kind of mileage does he get with it, Kyle?

Most reviews I've read agreed that its a powerful engine, but most drivers can't keep their foot out of it and pay for it at the pump.

The '17 model I drove had the normally aspirated version of the same engine, and it had plenty of poop going up a mountain pass. Sure, it only had two people in it, but I'm retired and not in any hurry to get anywhere...

That's a real work of art, KJC. But aren't you supposed to use bailing wire and chewing gum together?🤣

Seriously, though, if that turns out to be the cure, a few minutes up on a rack at your local muffler shop will get a few tack welds in there to permanently cure the buzz.

Morning all, heavy rain last night , still windy 47 going up to 50 and cloudy

Day job took up most of the day, looks like latest layoffs complete, for now.
Did go out with wife for drinks/dinner at mexican place then home for movies and a fire.

Bloodwork came back and all looks fine, see Dr. next Friday to find out my BP is off the charts lately.

Too windy to work in the woods, trying not to wear Ash tree parts. But have caught up on some areas.
All the weedy bushes are blooming, so I know what to work on
Fox seems to like our front stairs and is there every few nights. Think we will have less varmints this summer. But more bugs with no long freezes.
Still need to cover garden to stop weeds and start indoor planting for tomatoes.
Blackberries trimmed back a few weeks ago look ready to start growing and I see some Tulips (the few left) and Daffodils trying to come up.

Calling for snow next weekend, but temps look too warm.

Be well,

Are you getting the high roof, crew model Transit?

63°F and 1.65 inches rain.

Sure would be nice to see a lot of sun and dryness.

Likely another day of just piddling around.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

wondering if there is an adequate way to fix this. Both left and right rv rear fender flares have cracks in them I'm guessing
from overtightening and poor design. Each piece is about 200 bucks to replace and unlikely it comes in right color.
I was thinking if I had time on my hands at some stop, I'd unscrew the item and use some superglue.
Am surprised pieces haven't fallen off already.
Looks like some adhesive has been applied around that edge. Maybe what is actually holding it on.

Rear wheel drive
3.73 Non-limited slip axle

Update: it is working GREAT!!! Mrs is very happy that it doesn’t sound like a hoopdie with fart-can mufflers anymore 🤣😂

It has been rattling like crazy, and now it doesn’t.

I have three spools of wire - I can do this almost indefinitely 🤣🤪🤣

Update to the updated Good Morning Update:

THE CAP IS OFF!

What a PITA. Rigged up to the rafters, applied tension, tried tapping, NOTHING.

Applied more tension, tried turning, wouldn’t budge.

Applied more tension, applied pipe wrench, it started turning, and s l o w l y began to move upward…

We also got one strand of barbed wire up the whole length of the fence, maybe will do another one tomorrow. . .

thank you for all the advice on the cap - I hope my end of it was at least entertaining! 😁👍

Kilroy, glad you got it figured out. Looks all rusted up.
RNG, the options you give up can be added via aftermarket I am sure.
When I ordered the Sprinter they screwed up and did not give me the suspension seat option. All the other options came through.
Are you mainly going to use it as a cargo van or are you converting to camper?
The high roof option on ours allow standing up without bumping the head.
The power of the engine looks good. Mine is only about 170 HP but it is plenty peppy I think. Yours with 275 and 10 speed transmission should be fine

Good (Sunday) morning. The overnight Low was a balmy 18C and it's presently 19.5C, very overcast with the odd gust. The Bureau Of Many-guesses actually got it right last night, in that thunderstorms did (and are) sweep through with heavy downpours. It's still raining and I haven't been out to check my gauge.

I'm off to Church in about an hour from now, then the rest of the day is 'His'.

That's about it, take care all.

Gauge update: 34.2mm @ 0830.

50F and sunny @ 16:00, which was/is probably the high for the day. Two day rainfall total was 2.42". Heading down to around 38F tonight for the low.

Up very late last night (04:00), working out in the garage.

Got another piece of Wonderboard Lite trimmed, drilled, and fitted for the main bathroom yesterday. Also cut some pieces of wood for supports to screw into, will probably get those put up today. Might even get the Wonderboard up as well.

Woman just announced that we had an Amazon delivery ... and then threw the packages at me ...

Looks like a new set of calipers (yay !), two assortments of nutserts (metric and imperial), and a digital angle finder box.

She subsequently announced that if I heard her go outside it was because She want to take a walk and get outside on this (reasonably) nice day ... (y)

Also got end trimmed on bottom of blast gate manifold with Japanese pull saw, foam installed, plastic tube glued, and mounting rail attached:

And mounted on the wall and most of the hoses run:

IMG_2276 copy.jpg

Short one fitting to connect the belt/disc sander which is due in tomorrow from Amazon. Still need to connect up and attach the hose that runs on the swing arm/Sky Hook™ as well.

Drill press doesn't have a dedicated connection to the dust collection system, but hose from the Sky Hook™ easily reaches it, if there's going to be a considerable amount of drilling taking place.

Initial testing with the Delta chop saw indicates the system has good suction (hoses compress) and it seems to do a fairly decent job of reducing the dust the chop saw throws.

I did have to wrap some electrical tape around a pair of 2 1/2 ---> 1 1/2 reducers to get a snug fit inside the 2 1/2 hose. In fact, I still have some to do on one of them.

Probably run over to Lowes or Home Depot here in a bit and pick up some 3" plastic J hook pipe hangers (which I did not have in stock) to clean things up a bit.

Shop Vac is starting to get heavy-ish so I'd like to dump its contents out on the floor and then suck it all back up, running it through the dust cyclone/separator to see how well it works.

Anyways that my story for now.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday ... (y)

Gas tanker wrecked, reports say he got cut off. He passed away.
One house burned also, and a couple other vehicles.
Wild day, had a vehicle go in the river at a boat ramp, police shot an armed man, couple other fires.
