Gas at Costco: $2.89/gal. Stations up the street: $3.28...... That's a big difference!

The temp only got up to 46°, then the clouds moved in and the temp dropped quick. The weather guessers now upped tonights snow amount here to 4-6".

Tractor all set to go if needed. Hopefully not.....

43°F and cloudy this morning, got up to 66° today. More weather moving in Thursday night and Friday, may end as snow. Looks like we may be in the low 70s on Monday.

Discovered yesterday that the wind from a storm a couple days ago damaged the barn. It has dual sliding doors, but the one on the right has never been used. It's just been held in place by a couple of obviously-too-small L-brackets mounted to the poles and the door. No longer. The wind swung it out at the bottom, and newly rearranged dirt, courtesy of our mole population, wouldn't let it swing back into place. A few minutes of grunting with a large pry bar fixed that. I reattached the diminutive brackets to hold it until I can get to a store to some get more appropriate sized brackets. Going to have to spend some time prying and beating the two doors back into alignment too so it will close completely, as well as putting some screws where there formerly were nails holding the corrugated sheet metal to the wood frames in several places. Not going to happen until this weekend, though. Not enough daylight left yet when I get home from work on weekdays.

I have a bunch more catching up to do here. You guys are, as always, prolific.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.

Cold cold wind. Coldest winter in Southern Cal in 17 yrs.
My bones verify that! Next 2 days warmer and no rain for a darn change.
Snow closures just 20 miles from the house. None here but that is where the ascent begins up the 11k peak San Jacinto. Great road for sportscars... waiting for spring for that fun... right now you all have a great night - I'm going to make a fire in the place and watch a little TV

Good morning from Central Texas. 71 degrees, T-storms to my SW. They say chance of severe later. Who knows, but we can use some rainfall!
Fertilizer prices have come down. Unfortunately, I was one of the last to pay attention and the (2) local suppliers are out already! It is a bit early maybe to consider, but as warm as it has been... maybe not.

The B52 Stratofortress, introduced 70 years ago! Remarkable. Think we got our money's worth on this design.

Hope all had a great day. Look upward and remember who is in charge. Take Care to all

Drinking first cup of coffee. 28° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40” with mostly cloudy skies. Got grocery shopping done. Made a visit to Comcast store. Took over an hour to get me access to my account. Had to dump double I’d check to get into it. Not much else got done. Sure hope the Comcast tech gets internet hooked up today.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

I'm leaving the 19th of this month and getting back about two weeks later.

Did make plans to go to Cedarville MI over July 4th holiday, visit my brother's family vacation home there at very top of UP.
Will be visiting with Ron, RS and ? Am stopping in Lancaster on way home to have dinner with very old friends there.

up too early, hope it's a nap day later

BUFF is sortakinda like that avocado-green refrigerator from 1971 - it JUST WON’T DIE

old friend's younger brother is a trainer for B52's in Louisiana.
just shows how tough that airframe is, though they have updated avionics, etc.
What a polluter that plane is if you watch it take off, not like they were concerned over emissions controls when designed.
They wanted a big plane to drop nuclear weapons.
Surprised after all these years they haven't changed out those engines for something more modern.
I also wonder with the other more modern bombers out there, like the B1, why they still keep them but like Kilroy says, they
just won't die. I believe the plane still has the largest payload capacity of any of our bombers. Guess those 8 smoky engines do their job.

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

61F, raining all night, solitary rumble of thunder had dog slink in to our room for consolation.

Lluckily, she did get her trip up the mountain, and we did not rush her as we knew the next couple days would be rainy.

happy Puppy:

I tried again with the oil breather/cap. It spins but won’t come off. Push down, pull up, rock side-to-side while pushing, rock side-to-side while pulling, it doesn’t move vertically at all.

comealong to the rafter is next - I don’t want to have to do an oil change by refilling through the dipstick tube. . .

tonight I have to email all my tax stuff to the accountant. Gotta feed Uncle.

time to start getting ready to go to work. One of the things I have noticed while data-processing all these tax documents is that a lot of people are not doing well with their portfolios compared to last year, and that it looks like a good number are cashing out at a loss to prevent bigger losses. Most portfolios with positive numbers are positive by very small margins - big winners are rare enough to be extremely noteworthy. . .

I hope everyone has a happy healthy productive safe blessed day!

Yes! My brother and I often discuss older vs. newer products and wonder with all the efforts in reproductions that there *may* someday be a company to back engineer and design products such as appliances or other products to include some improvements but are built like the "old days". I am a dreamer! Seems many things today are designed for obsolescence and replacement of entire product.

There is (was) a company that was refurbishing old Chambers stoves due to the interest Rachel Ray spiked a bunch of years back. I wish I still had my grandmother’s old refrigerator with the meat-locker handle and tiny freezer that had to be defrosted every two months.

Good morning, 46 going to 60 with some drizzle. Walked Cody with the headlight on.
Kids came out yesterday and all had a good time.
Tax refund check came in from IRS
Taking a trip out West will be a great adventure. Having flexibility to stay and enjoy newly found places is something I always wanted.
Looks like I defeated the computer, iPhone, internet connection issues because it all works now, finally. Except last night the iPhone did not connect on a call from wife and message on her phone said it was forwarded. So maybe not.

49 outside this AM. Heading to mid 60's. Raining.

Nothing on the agenda, a low energy day. LOL. Will head out with SO to go get her hair cut. I get to watch and sit on a nice comfy sofa for an hour or two.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Get healthy to those ailing, stay healthy for the rest of us.

Good morning team! 72F and chance of storms later this evening, while spotty showers occur today.

Popgadget, since I prefer to DIY fixit my vehicles, you just talked me out of a prius for a commuter. 3 phase a/c.... I need to start a thread about the quest to find the cheapest commuter vehicle with a full rubric of cost parameters...with all the pollution reduction designs, and designs for higher mileage, sometimes longevity or dependability suffers.

David, your family has my condolences. It sounds like a terrible accident and situation. Prayers for your extended family. It will take them a long time to heal from this.

Work has still been busy. Some change in my management tree is coming. A bit apprehensive about it. The guy stepping down has done a phenomenal job. I will miss him.

RNG, I think with the years of weathering on your roof tiles, it will be hard to get a perfect match. Maybe consider a whole roof replacement to colored metal? Or reflective galvalume for energy savings?

I just ordered my soon to be 13 yo son a very cheap to me laptop. 5 year old technology, but I got it delivered for less than $175. These were high ended business models originally.
Refurbished Dell Latitude 7290 Notebook, 12.5-in HD (1366 x 768), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 Quad (i5-8350U) 1.70 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10 Professional
I have 30 day window to send it back if it isn't worth it. He needs a smaller laptop to fit in back pack.

Good morning, the low is 25 and going to 28°F. Wind N 11 gusting to 20 mph. 60% chance of light snow, no accumulation.

Checked the torque on the tractor wheels yesterday, they were right on the money. 166.5 'lbs rear. Didn't check the fronts.

Today is the North Bay trip. Hopefully that goes good. Tomorrow will be the weekly dump run.

Condolences to your in-laws, David.

Have a safe day all
