Morning all, 30 going up to 43 and see some sun.
Tonight is Talent show at high school.

Some of sons band practices have been canceled due to band members being grounded.
PopGadget- bet you never miss band practice due to one of the members being grounded

Still waiting to hear from rental on what is happening, seems building may fix. Stay tuned.

Any advice on what I should plant in back cleared area so I don't get so many weeds/brambles?
Not sure I want grass there.

Drew RV on the beach-looks great. I know in the keys there a few RV sites on the beach, wonder how far in advance to book? Let me know if you need any help on RV.

This used to be so thick with Ash trees and in the winter it was a solid mass of vines and bushes.
Now thinned out, and few of the dead ash left, but just enough that I can't go into some sections when it's windy.

You may want to plant hardwood trees that will establish a canopy and shade out the underbrush. It will take several years to get them to that point but after that no more mowing or brush clean up.

Looking for more ground cover.
Guess I should have been more specific.
Though I would not mind a few hardwoods as we don't have many in that area.

We used our motorhome for years every weekend pretty much and had standing reservations at the Texas Galveston Park on the beach. To get a reservation there we had to be one year ahead in scheduling. As we cleared out to return home we made a new reservation for the next one a year out. The front row next to the beach were the most desirable camp sites with cooler temps and breeze to blow away mosquitos

23º going up to 28º. Ice storm warning, through tomorrow. Only getting light snow here, so far. Ice may go south, east. School cancelled, daughters clinic office is closed. Looks like a stay at home couple of days. Got groceries yesterday, but forgot milk.

That is next step, remove rocks so I can get my flail back there. And move all the dead tree parts.
We get stilt grass here on open ground, so was thinking about what might be hard for that to grow through.

Got some wind yesterday, but not too bad.
While feeling better yesterday, coughing lot of stuff, so I took antibiotic last night. Difficult getting to sleep, but slept in this morning.
Like watching the little deer in backyard.

Good morning! Low of 35°, going up to 43°. Windy 35-45 mph with gusts to 65. No snow overnight, but heard a couple of brief heavy showers. Maybe an 1/8" in the gauge. Probably won't get much more.... the wind blowing it away.

The knee was really acting up yesterday. Now have another new area of pain and it seems under the kneecap..... never had that before. Still waiting for a call back from the referral. They confirmed they got it, now have to wait for 'scheduling' to do their job......

I got off easy at Costco yesterday, only $120, plus $32 in gas. The gas prices jumped back up.... $3.14/gal. Still cheaper than the regular stations, they are around $3.40-3.50 a gal.

Not much on the agenda today, aside from making sure the furniture doesn't move..... Probably help the wifey with some things. She is still fighting the crud. From her description of current symptoms, maybe another 2-3 days before she gets over the worst part.

I might get some measurements taken and draw up a piece of furniture the wifey wants made. A 'secretary desk'. It needs to fit in a corner, up against one wall. Couldn't find any online that will fit precisely, either too big, or way too small. It will be a good project when the weather breaks.
