we moved 753 miles out of inner-city decay to Small-Town America in the mountains of Appalachia, only to have druggies across the road. . . In a subdivision with several gummint officials that don’t do nothing about it.

🤬💥
 (n)Small town here too. IT IS EVERYWHERE. *Maybe*, just *Maybe* check with the County Judge. Law resources here are stretched too thin. Can barely keep up with things.

Just before lunch, the boss lady from out-of-state was introduced to the room and did a walk around. When she and our supervisor came around to us, I immediately introduced myself as “the pain-in-the-butt troublemaker who complains about everything”. She laughed. New chatted a bit about nothing much of consequence, and when she said she would be here all week, I replied “Try the veal, tip your waiters.”

yes - I am that guy.

The gummint officials are the County ADA and the DA for five counties. . .

41 going to 60. Too many trees and bushes are already flowering. They can't read the calendar and won't listen to me.

Got the blade trimmer running and ran a tank cleaning up some honeysuckle, greenbrier, and blackberry stalks where they had begun to take over the daffodils and daylillies. Unfortuntely, the daffodils are blooming and the daylillies are several inches high, so had to be particularly careful, and do close-up work with clippers. My wife didn't get home until after dark from visiting her mom, so she'll be surprised when she goes out today.

Did a dump run and got a hike in to the river, wearing SHORTS in February....and yes, it met Sodamo's definition of a hike, twice. 😁

Kilroy, how do you know they are druggies? We've been blessed with good neighbors, most are the children of the deceased farmer who lived across the road and used to cut our hay. Two are retired LEOs.

37 outside this AM, heading to mod 50's. Flowers all popping out of the ground. Buds on trees. I actually saw a dandelion yesterday.

Supposed to be 82 tomorrow.

Did not feel like doing much of anything yesterday. I got the power washer out and cleaned up the wifes truck and tractor. That was it for the day. I need to get more J channel, soffit and run two more electrical wires for lights in the Milk House.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe, get or stay healthy.

Our local sheriff posts arrest to Facebook. But even without that, the constant stream of strange vehicles for short visits (as short as 30 seconds) at all hours is a good clue. . . Not to mention several visits by multiple LE vehicles several times, and regular visits by CPS and Probation. . .

Interesting tidbits about our George Washington, born on this date, 291 years ago...

Washington wasn’t just America’s first president, he was also its first mule breeder. (Mules=a mix of horse and donkey.) Recognizing the value of the mule for farmers, Washington is believed responsible for creating the mule stock that powered American agriculture in the South for generations.

And mules weren’t the only animals he bred. In addition to many varieties of birds, Washington kept many canine breeds at Mount Vernon, including Dalmatians, English foxhounds, French hounds, Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, mastiffs, Newfoundlands, pointers, spaniels and terriers. A huge dog lover, he selectively bred hunting dogs for speed over the years and gave them endearing names like Sweet Lips, Venus, Trulove, Taster, Tippler, Drunkard and Madame Moose.

good morning all
33 going up to 43 today, another cold wet day

spent a lot of time last night planning rv trip to Florida.
Hope to come back through Southern VA, and then a stop in Williamsport MD on way home.
Two weeks on the road, good test to see if I can do it, before next years hopeful trip out West.

new tv and sound bar delivered in middle of hail storm yesterday, got them inside quickly.
Amazon guy piled a bunch of boxes up right outside my door, which swings out...not the first time.
going to make appt on Friday to get new tires put on front of rv, and then next week a trip back to dealer
to finish a number of projects, including the propane heat that doesn't work, install a new full size china bowl rv toilet,
and replace an exhaust fan. Then I need to put water in the unit, and sleep overnight
in my driveway to make sure it all works.

one stop planned on way home from south Florida will be:
narrowest sites I've seen, but clearly this is prime real estate.

Good morning, 34 going to 45 today, high tomorrow 73 is in the forecast.

Nothing planned today so will see what I can get into. Not having Cody stink of Fluidfilm is a good thing this morning. Waiting for the ground to dry up some more to be able to move some more dirt without tearing up the ground too much.
