38F and cloudy @ 14:00, calling for a high of around 41F today. Sun was peeking out earlier.

A little better tomorrow with a high of around 44F and a mix of sun and clouds. Probably work on mowing/mulching leaves and general outside clean up tomorrow as that appears to be the warmest day in the Ten Day.

Hopper feeder definitely needs refilled so that will be the first order of business this afternoon.

Then head over to pole barn and get water line blown out.

Probably gather up some tools while I'm over there and bring those back to the house.

Beyond that will have to see what else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday ... (y)

How many of us read KIA and our first thought is "Killed in Action"?
Lost too many buddies there.
/edit - and then Ford is sometimes referred to as "Found on road dead", although I've had many (3 presently) and they didn't die

And here I’m thinking just me.

Don’t recall hearing that one

Drew, i read an article not too long ago that talked about Starlink-GPS possibility. Guessing that would help Tesla.

21°F and partly cloudy this morning, up to 39° now. The sun has already melted a good portion of the snow from Saturday morning.

Ron, I passed through Breese this morning on the way to Tractor Supply in Carlyle to get chicken feed. Took old US-50 all the way there. I like it better than the new highway, for some reason.
I also stopped at the Carlyle Walmart to get some things for The Wife. They have gone 100% self-checkout. Sad.

Wife and I both drive KIAs. We've had seven (I think) between the two of us over the years.
There is a river running near us named the Kaskaskia River. It's the one they dammed to form Carlyle Lake. Every time I hear that name, my mind repeats it as "Cass-Cass-KIA."
I have issues. 🤪

Good afternoon, gents.

my favorites were always the jokes about Lucas being the Prince of Darkness. Except I remember it as Queen of Darkness....same idea
  • Not many people know that Land Rovers attempted to market a computer. Why did they stop? They could not find a way to get it to leak oil!
  • A Land Rover doesn´t leak oil, it marks it´s territory. Did you hear about the man whose Land Rover didn't leak oil? The factory took it backand worked on it until it did.
  • Did you hear the one about the guy that peeked into a Land Rover and asked the owner "How can you tell one switch from another at night? They all look the same. " - "He replied, "It does not matter which one you use, nothing happens !"
  • The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
  • Lucas is the patent holder for the short circuit.
  • Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
  • Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
  • The three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off.
  • The Original Anti-Theft Device - Lucas Electrics.
  • >Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices
  • Lucas systems actually uses AC current; it just has a random frequency.
  • Why do the British drink warm beer? A: Because Lucas makes their refrigerators
  • Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone.Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb. Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.
  • Recommended procedure before taking on a repair of Lucas equipment: Check the position of the stars, kill a chicken and walk three times clockwise around your car chanting:" Oh mighty Prince of Darkness protect your unworthy servant.."
and of course as a proper Brit, keep a stiff upper lip in the dark...

The thing that saved me on the many British bikes I had was that the magneto ignition usually worked even if the rest of the Lucas system crapped out. But had to drive home in the dark without lights many times. No alternator and the generators were unreliable.
