There would be more concensus on financial and economic issues if most people actually had a functional education in these subjects. Unlike other subjects like math where the basic principles are first taught in elementary school progressively leading to more complex principles, in my state of Tennessee, personal finance appears to be a once and done course. In my opinion, the textbook offerings written by academics show a marked lack of practicality in real life application. Students lose interest because they can't see how studying finance and economics would help them personally when they are mired in a truck load of academic BS most likely written by someone who never actually worked in finance in real life. If students were actually taught how finance and economic issues affect them in real life in real ways, it would do a great deal to restore agreement on core issues. What we have now is a free for all anything goes mentality that can't work in the long term and just leads to division and fighting instead of just dealing with the problem.

With all the online shopping, Black Friday isn't what it used to be.

I just want 870 series Samsung 8TB SSD drives to go on sale. My video editing computer is out of space again and I'm tiring of random skinny drives waking up and messing with the video editing process. Clearly a first world problem.

I did not like the outcome, but accept the results pending compelling evidence, but i defend to the death the right of anyone to question the security of our elections. and IMO anyone who cries foul at the person asking questions about the security of our elections is hiding something.
Every citizen has the right to question anything, but they look foolish if they have no facts to support their challenges.

That's a little blunt. But it reminds me of my dad defining "stupidity" as doing the same thing over and over even though it keeps on having the same wrong result.

It would be nice if we could fix the economy politically, but it has never worked that way in the past. So if we try that the chances are good that we are back to same mistake; same result.

Besides, who might be an effective leader? Frankly I'm not interested electing a leader whose idea of leadership is building himself up by tearing others down. I expect more out of leadership than that.

And I darn sure am not going to vote for the schoolyard bully.

Whoops, well doggone it. I'm afraid I just ran out of candidates.

Unless you vote illegally several times for the same candidate over & over.
Some people stupidly commit crimes over & over again, with the same wrong result, but get rewarded with no jail time or fines.

Its a crazy new world, rScotty

Depends on your definition of ā€œfactsā€.

When our country enters a phase where questioning something is ā€radicalā€ or ā€œracistā€, it’s the beginning of the end of our representative republic.

Rudy said in court that they had no facts. It’s radical or maybe just stupidity to continue to hold positions where the primary originator said they had nothing.

You need facts when you "know it in your heart" šŸ˜…

I think jyoutz was using "question" in the sense of challenging something, not as an enquiry. If you change his sentence so that it reads ".....right to CHALLENGE anything,...." then it makes sense.

Used otherwise as written, I agree with Hay Dude. Questioning somethiong isn't radical; it's required to make a republic work.

I think I used right to question, but that was my intent
